The state police by the general court and the governor and the local police by the same and by their mayors and city councils. They are public servants, they serve at the will of the government. There are no problems that political action cannot overcome.

Having followed local political tides after ICE was in town: politicians and cops say that the police have no authority here and the best they can do is not provide assistance, because they have a pre-fascist-takeover view of Authority. Without consequences, authority is what you say it is.

Also cops are not public servants, they are not elected, they are hired, they don't swear authority to anything besides the badge. They don't have to uphold laws because they have qualified immunity. Cops got us here!

No one is saying anything about inaction, you just are looking for the absolute wrong people to stop this if you are looking at cops, they are literally the ones facilitating this, they are the ones calling ICE, they are the ones pointing ICE where to go.
