Can I get a fish expert, either illustrator, scientist, or outdoors person familiar with anatomy who I can email my sketch of a Sacramento perch to check the gill cover/facial anatomy of art I’m doing for park signage? Fish are still a new-ish subject for me and I need fresh eyes plz. #SciArt 🐟

This is the most highly specific post I've seen in a long time and I love it

It’s a specific fish! And fish have weird face folds I don’t wanna do the fish equivalent of drawing a cat nose on a dog because I wasn’t understanding my ref images correctly lol
