I'm starting to feel very good that I have some things in my freezer that have been there since before the FDA fell apart. I wasn't "being lazy about cooking", I was "anticipating governmen failures".

Picked blueberries locally the night before the blueberry recall was released. I’ve been low key stocking up too. Raised in the country I’m lucky to have been taught how to store extras always.

I’m actually a mini-prepper. I live in an urban area, but I have a spare fridge full of rice, oatmeal, quinoa, and other foods, probably enough for a year at least. Same with the spare freezer. And add to that a house battery. Like you, I am really glad I set aside so much when Don “won” last year.

I began stocking up on freeze dried food after the last presidential election; not just because of the tariffs, but I knew his administration would be absolutely incompetent.

Something told me not to buy that frozen berry melange the other day. I actually stood in front of the freezer thingie at Trader Joe's on Wednesday and debated myself over purchasing frozen fruit. I had already decided against most fresh stuff a couple of weeks ago

I've become what I've always despised-a mini-prepper. I've got food stocked to last at least 5 months if not more. I hate that we're so fucked we have to defend ourselves against a government so incompetent that we can't be protected against our own food sources.

honestly being a mini prepper is basically just how you shop when you're poor anyway. Buy and preserve in bulk when you see sales. Live off dry and frozen for a month or two when money is tighter. Rinse and repeat.

Same here. I opened my freezer tonight and felt a rush of relief at all the frozen vegetables I bought several weeks ago! I wasn't anticipating government failures, though. I caught a sale 😁

My dad was a depression era child. He hoarded toilet paper. We always teased him about it. COVID hit. He had 40 rolls of toilet paper. He didn’t let us forget his “planning”.

#30million8/30 March in August to protest the regime. March in September to protest the fascism. March in October to protest the failed Legislators. March in November to the polls to be heard. NATIONWIDE PROTEST 8/30 RISE UP! OVERTHROW! END FASCISM IN AMERICA!

Also, look online for farmers near you. It might take some digging but found a couple near me that give free delivery for organics, even wheat. They are regenerative farmers. Exactly who I want to support. Look up things like CSA which you invest with the farmer for the season.

Get your fall gardens in the ground now. There's things like garlic and miner's lettuce that can be grown in the winter. Get a grow light and turn a closet into a produce grow room with shorter or dwarf variations. Stock up on microgreen/sprout seeds from someplace like True Leaf Market.
