Ooof, yep, I watched that at a similar age. It was the 70s/80s version of peer pressure in that if a film like that was on telly and you *didn't* watch it then you'd get slagged in school the next day. So being traumatised was the lesser of two evils....

I can still feel the chill up my spine. I watched it at the house of my friend who had a nice vcr and tv. We invited a few girls to join. We wanted to look brave. I'm not sure, we might have failed at that.

I remember this playing as the BBC Wednesday evening movie, pre watershed, finishing before the 9pm news. Scary as he'll,but I REALLY wanted to be one of those kids with those special powers!
