It always feels like all the wrong people die, but I think it’s because there are far more beloved people than there are bastards.

That's such a nice way of looking at it. Maybe this is a horrible analogy but I heard a similar thing about roadkill too. It's sad when you see roadkill but often those roads indicate that there's TONS of wildlife just flourishing in that area.

But maybe a more apt comparison is an epiphany I had about myself recently. At one point I thought, why have I had so many failed friendships that left me heartbroken? What's wrong with me? & then I remember how I have so many MORE successful friendships & how I'm just good at placing boundaries

Also, I think it’s a bit because we continue to remember the good ones I threw myself a big-breakfast party when Limbaugh died, but I hardly think of him. I think about Bowie and Prince all the time

I think the problem with it is that it takes a long time to build stuff up than it does to break stuff down so all the people arriving to build stuff up don't get talked about until after they spent a life doing it while those that break stuff get complained about all day for breaking stuff.

So important to remember this. It’s hard when the bastards are so loud, and crushingly powerful, but really? They’re so minuscule comparatively. Just big ol’ weeds we need to get to pickin.’
