An open phone-OS will only work if governments push the market towards using it so major app makers will be motivated to support it. Like, I want an OS that I can run my bank's app on.

Get an /e/os Fairphone or a GrapheneOS Motorola.

In smartphone operating systems, we don't have so much choices, we have to deal with the lesser evil. Also anything is more trusted than Google

Sideloading and custom ROMs are what made Android great. Losing that control would be a huge step backward for power users.

For the Americans, with the only real option being Murena's Fairphone and /e/ 's privacy issues, GrapheneOS seems like the strongest play.

I know, but the UI is great though. It feels very different from what we currently have. Anyway, GrapheneOS is awesome and reliable on my Pixel10. Thanks!
