I had a really fun story time at @snugbooksbmore.bsky.social at the end of August (& forgot to take pictures, of course!) Other than that, I haven't had much going on in my creative world. Imposter syndrome and the lying voices in my head have been conspiring to silence my stories #KidLitChat

I've learned that writing every day doesn't kill the imposter syndrome, but it does overcome the resultant writer's block. #kidlitchat

Yeah, I was doing so well at the start of this year, writing a new picture book draft every day. And it was doing wonders for my overall mental health! Then, I let life get in the way and I missed a few days... then a week... Then the entire month of August... *sigh* #KidLitChat

That's why I'm afraid to skip a day. Coming up on Day 3000 in a couple weeks. It has created a chain of events that has led to a pile of manuscripts and an agent and a nice place in my community. Plus, I feel like an actual writer. #kidlitchat

That's a great accomplishment! Congratulations on that upcoming milestone. I am determined to get back to it. Last night, I pulled out my story pencils & wrote something I was actually pretty happy with, so as long as I write something before bed tonight, I'm back on my streak - Day 2! #KidLitChat

I still have to get there. My motto for eight years has been: My streak will end and that's OK. Just not today. #kidlitchat
