Proof that consistency and patience is far more effective in creating habits in your dog than fear and dominance. Such a beautiful expression of devotion 💛

You technically can train anyone with both methods... But I just prefer when it's fun for all involved... Including the animal.. :)

My cat won’t eat until I give him a full two handed body rub. He’ll just look at his good, waiting Little does he know this routine began bc he has such long hair that it began as my check to see if he’s still normal weight under all his 3” long fluff 🐱❤️

That’s interesting! Everyone knows that it’s basically impossible to train a cat but my girl waits for me to come over and pet her before she will eat. She’s on an auto feeder for morning and midday meals and will run over there when the food drops but then waits for attention before she’ll eat.

Spot on. I always have two dogs at a time. An older and a younger. When the older is close to passing, I get a pup. This way the older dog helps train the younger. I created a pattern many dogs ago and the older dog passes this understanding on to the younger dog. No fear, just patterns.

My Rottie, when she was a puppy, kinda 'wanted' to be food aggressive, so every time that I put my hand near her bowl, it was to drop in a few extra pieces of something yummy. Trained her right out of that shit, tout de suite.

Nu nog een eetbak standaard zodat de bakken op hoogte zijn voor de hoogte van de hond. Voedsel/water komt dan beter naar binnen en geeft dan minder inname klachten en beter voor slokdarm.

I accidentally did this to our kitty. I was told when we got her to pet around her face and touch her food so she would be used to us being around that area when she’s eating something in case she gets something she shouldn’t….. now she won’t eat unless we pet her and tap her food 😭

I do this exact thing with my boy. He must sit, gimme paw, then gimme kiss. Only problem is he gets confused when he's at doggy day care or staying with my son! He's waiting for the release signal. 😉

My one cat Arthur (RIP), I would squat down and put his food bowl on the floor and he would come over and put one paw on each of my shoulders and want a hug before he ate.

We've done something similar with our oldest cat. Now he refuses to come inside until we've done the secret password to enter which is a nose boop.

My dog literally wouldn't eat until I patted his head and ruffled his ears. This meant more to him than the food. It was he who initiated it. I would feed him and he would stand there looking at me, expecting something. Finally, I tried patting him on the head and then he wagged his tail and ate.

My pup, when he’s happy about something, that he enjoyed his dinner, or a treat, or going for a walk. He runs up and hops until i bend down or if I lay down, he runs to my race and gives my face a single lick before bouncing back and asking for scritches lol

Just to clarify, i have a nerve disease and lay down or sitting down a lot, so he’s used to being able to get to my face. I don’t just randomly lay down so he can lick my face lol. I’m already laying down most of the time.
