This is VidLii's dev, BF3k. It looks like one of our moderators was hacked and their account was used to access our moderation tools. I'm still investigating. 🧵

Don't worry about the people being whiny and impatient, take as long as you need to fix things. I'd rather wait a long time and come home to a site that won't get repeat problems, rather than wait an hour only to see a broken site with nothing resolved.

Thanks for getting on this quickly. I happened to record what happened lastnight, so looks like I'll have something to share with my friends when the site comes back :p

I'm not surprised. I've heard that the moderators on BitView, VidLii, and Vlare don't do a very good job. They often seem inactive or unwilling to enforce their rules, allowing problematic content and users to remain on the platforms for long periods without action.

All the websites you mentioned have or had volunteer moderators who aren't paid. We do our best with what we have, and so do other websites in our position.

It's been hours and hours and the app still says "We are restoring the site from a daily backup". what is taking you guys so long to fix it! I want it back by tommorow Saturday, June 13, 2026 so I can post videos on my channel already!

Right now, it appears that a limited number of emails may have been exposed through scraping of our moderation dashboards. No other personal data appears to have been exposed.

The moderator's access has been removed and I'm working on restoring the site from a daily backup.

To our knowledge, no passwords have been compromised. It might still be a good idea if you're worried, tho.
