From my roads engineer daughter, "I hate hate hate when people who have no idea how traffic works impact decisions despite the data." Why are we fighting a road diet that will significantly improve safety and not cause significant traffic delays?

These folks think fewer lanes mean more congestion and their “common sense” and anecdotes override expertise and data. They know better than the engineers and planners and they certainly know better than the folks advocating for safety. The status quo is perfectly fine, as far as they are concerned.

I’m sure your daughter has heard the same conversation hundreds of times during public engagement.
