There have been 6 recent crashes involving cyclists and pedestrians, 4 of them fatal, along this same stretch of Lougheed Hwy. Yesterday, another pedestrian was killed. We call on Maple Ridge & Pitt Meadows to stop prioritizing the comfort of drivers over the safety of pedestrians and cyclists.

This is an MOTT issue. Yes, Maple Ridge and Pitt Meadows need to do better, but at the end of the day this stretch of highway is managed by the same ministry that thinks Highway 17's shoulders are suitable to designate as a bike lane. Wrong enemy.
