Nextcloud is one that comes to mind, and it can be self-hosted. I haven't tried it myself, but if I had a need for cloud-based docs/sheets/storage, it would probably be one of my first choices. (Think I saw some other options, but their names escape me)

The only big downside of Ellipsus so far is that I can't do footnotes. They have a big anti-AI stance, which is great to see a company loudly do lol

Ellipsus is a fantastic Docs replacement.

That's why i made hard backups but it's very convenient to be able to work on my iPad, then jump to my phone, then jump to my PC and have the same file accessible. Guess i'll just stop doing that.

If it’s on someone’s else computer, then it’s not a “your” drive.

Of course those two-faced pedophiles would have bullshit rules like that.

Yeah this happened to Slope's Game Room. Was investigating the crazy "Super Sega" guy and got his drive nuked after downloading the full chat he had infiltrated. Always worth having 2 drives if you can't use something else.

I haven't tried the mobile version yet but its so... intricate on desktop I can't imagine it'll translate well. Sounds like that's the case!

if you're looking for a solid documents tool and don't need it to be on the cloud, I have been using Anytype for the past year and adore it anytype.io it's main selling point is "what if Notion didn't suck" but it's also just a rock solid, reliable easy to use rich text editor

Proton seems reasonable to me. I write a shitton so I was worried about 2 gigs until I realized how long it would take me to fill that up 🥴

Sorry but only the 1% are allowed porn

oh no!

I swear no one is allowed to be horny anywhere but when putting literal pen to literal paper, I’m so fucking tired of this bullshit

I do wonder what triggers it. Some AI scanner, no doubt.

One of the big problems with all the eggs residing in one basket.

happened to me over a decade ago, google account was deleted with no warning just for having porn saved in the google drive it was an early motivator to never rely on google ever again
