Feeling like a genius for looking up Dungeon Crawler Carl images so I can learn I will hate hate hate every moment of this and not waste any money checking it out lol oh so it's just Ready Player One but if Ernest Cline listened to less dadrock and played Portal and Borderlands gotcha

I cannot emphasize enough that I did not cherry pick these examples. They are the ones that showed up in a google image search for excerpts. Most of them were people posting POSITIVELY about these excerpts (made them laugh, etc), not to make a bad example of it. Alls I'm sayin is it ain't for me

re: "BUT IT HAS THEMES, RPO DOESN'T" Um, yes, okay, that's nice? Good? I believe you and I'm glad, that's dope. It's still written very annoyingly (like RPO's humor style), for me! That doesn't make the journey to experience the themes very worthwhile if I don't like its sense of humor!

I’m enjoying it, but I can understand this opinion. I balked at your RPO comparison because they’re only similar on the surface level. RPO is pure fantasy wish fulfillment, whereas DCC is the complete opposite (and essentially Hunger Games)
