As an organ recipient, I think any effort to curtail donation is bad. This administration has a record of saying one thing and then going to extremes to deny care to the people who need it the most. Saving a life through donation is a gift in itself.

I have cirrhosis. Completely my fault from drinking and taking Tylenol PM EVERY night.I have been told I probably won't need a transplant but I GUARANTEE they are thinking of ways to deny organs due to "moral failings"... hopefully I won't need one because that is when I stop any further treatment.

As a heart recipient, & knowing my donor family & the heartbreak that they experienced with the loss of their beautiful son, this does not help at all with future donors

This less than a 0.06% rate of "living" patients. There are no national guidelines for determining patient death, all are state regulations under their state medical boards. Considering the rate of problems with other procedures, this is extremely small.

I’m pretty tuned into the organ donation thing (having had two heart transplants and a kidney transplant). This doesn’t happen. Brain death has to be signed off by two separate neurosurgeons. Further, organ recovery does not take place without prior family approval.

Great, my spouse is in process of applying to UNOS kidney transplant. Scarce resource now made worse by RFK and news cycle, perpetuating myths and fears. Is there a concern? yes. common? no. Plants a seed of doubt.
