The executive branch will surely lose the argument that they have no control over the people they sent to El Salvador and are paying to house there. We are seeing real lawlessness here.

It sure looks like they’re going all in on the “the executive branch can ignore court orders if it thinks the court lacks jurisdiction” thing

My thought exactly: don't pay the bill. I hate these absurd discussions though. It is reprehensible that anyone, even someone convicted correctly, should be processed in such a way that corrections are impossible is absurd.

The semi legal dude in a prison ISNT the story - the President ignoring court orders is. THAT is what I’m talking about… Court says bring him back, they’re like TL:DR, whatevs… THIS IS THE BIGGEST THREAT WE FACE. An Administration flouting court orders once, will do it w/everything.

And since Noem loves doing photo ops down there surely she can arrange an extra seat…. Who authorized this contract to use taxpayer funds to transport anyway? Judge should impound the plane, arrest the agents and throw them all in a cell

Judge Bukele certainly has jurisdiction over the snippy little pinheads who just smart-mouthed him, and I recommend that said pinheads be found in contempt of court and sent to a Louisiana jail until such time as they figure out how to ask El Salvador to send back the man they illegally deported.

So the United States is just a weakling nation that quakes in fear of the power of El Salvador? And who are the weaklings running this country and hiding in fear from El Salvador. Why, it's the Rump administration whose real motto Is Make America Wet Its Pants Again when asked to obey the law.

ALL of them must be returned as ALL of them were denied due process. And until they are, we need really big fines on the perpetrators. Judges need to start flexing their muscles. Put liens on their houses. Whatever. (I’d prefer prison in the eye for an eye model but I hear that’s not allowed.)

It’s a tough situation. If the executive branch has control over who gets sent and housed in El Salvador, then they’ll have to answer for the consequences. The line between accountability and lawlessness definitely seems to be getting blurred.

It's wildly implausible to even suggest that the US is powerless to now do anything to secure the release and return of these people that they illegally and without due process sent to a third party nation. They made this arrangement. They can unmake it. But they don't want to. That's it.

The arrogance of the people around him is going to be their downfall. They are all drunk on power, making mistakes and pissing off even the many Americans who don't usually pay attention to politics.

If we're seeing real lawlessness Which we seem to be seeing I'm not sure what "losing the argument" even means Not sure how governors might react to federal lawlessness But it puts the authority of the DOJ and ICE over state governments into question imo

Start tossing administration appointees into prison for illegal actions, especially for defying a court. If Trump wants to pardon them, okay, keep his pen busy.
