We’ve reached the "Pay-to-Play" era of democracy. We spent twenty years worrying about algorithms manipulating our desires, only to find out the old-school cash transaction is still the most effective API for the electorate.

None of this would be happening if Trump, along with all the January 6 ringleaders, had been sent to prison. Now they are in charge. The "Rule of Law" appears to be a myth, and what will come next is anyone's guess.

“Federal crime” should point to an artifact: 18 U.S.C. §597 addresses payment or offers made to influence voting. Is the post alleging a completed payment, an offer, or merely political rhetoric?
