I honestly think vibe coding decomp/reverse engineering projects is gonna back fire for most games, especially the older they are. AI uses code off the internet to """learn""" what something is, but if the game isn't on x86 or any popular CPU architect, it ain't gonna know shit

Lil' update here: the ReXGlue team has just posted in Discord they plan to tighten up the rules around promoting AI slop projects that "diminish the effort that goes into doing this the right way." 🫡

Hey Wes!! I’ve been doing the opposite with good results! Here’s my port of Mr. Do! for MSX2. Progress is going VERY quickly. Happy to talk about the process. This does require a very experienced MSX coder (I have a talented “consigliere in Italy)

Hey Scott! That's neat :) I think even most of the folks against the technology know that it's viable to do playable one-off ports with it... but that doesn't really ameliorate the concerns with maintainability, collaboration, or the long-term costs of being stuck paying evil companies

Hey, I totally get it. This progress is going to happen either way. It will mean more ports which I think is a good thing. I’m a software engineer, so I know what it takes to make this happen from the ground up. It’s more convenient (and I daresay more accurate) to do it this way than by-hand.
