The cat's out of the bag. This is why I'm not gonna be going to AGDQ this time around.
Limiter Cut is making a HUGE appearance at MAGfest 2027 in January. We'll not only be reprising the original Crazy Taxi run, but we will have AMAZING bonus content like a FULL CONCERT and EXTRA GAMES.

Just a warning for everyone, since Video Game Slopterica keeps being the most irresponsible YouTube Channel to exist these days.
The Banjo-Tooie Recompilation is NOT associated with us. It is entirely AI-generated. Both Zelda: Recompiled and Banjo: Recompiled have very clear No AI stances.
Is there any harm in using AI to work on β or entirely create β projects for the Sega Saturn and elsewhere in the retro gaming scene? Yes, PandaMonium says in this opinion column, equating such work to digital asbestos:

Reposting since I got OOTs status wrong
OOT - Planned
MM - Has recomp
SM64 - No recomp, but many PC ports already exist
MK64 - Has recomp
SF64 - Has recomp
BK - Has recomp
PM64 - Does not have recomp
AC - Another PC port is in progress but hasn't been touched in half a year
TP - Dusklight (PC port)
what could possibly be causing this team to be spread too thin and working on projects they're not passionate about idk it's a mystery
also had no idea they were the ones behind the ai twilight princess port that checks out though I guess
If it is listed as "has recomp", the recomp did not use AI. Someone more knowledgeable than me would need to see if the PC port versions of these games used AI or not.
Released a whole bunch of mods for Rekongpiled:
- Start with all kongs unlocked
- Slower beetle
- Fixed beaver bother
- Open coin door in Helm by default
All available on the mod page for DK64 Rekongpiled: dk64recomp.com/mods.html
(Yes I did have a lot of fun making the thumbnails)
The DK64 recomp is now out! Play "DK64 Rekongpiled" now!
Playable on Windows, Mac and Linux, just provide your own DK64 rom. No generative AI used at any point in the process.

Fuck it. For the first time ever, the DK Rap in true 4k resolution, 60 FPS and true widescreen.
The DK64 Recomp will be dropping Summer 2026! (by September 21, 2026)
www.youtube.com/watch?v=WcrV...
Generative AI has not been used in ANY point of the process of making the DK64 recomp. We have not generated a single line of code with AI, and we're not even referencing it to solve a difficult problem. All code has been human made, backed with years of working with DK64 and referencing RT64 devs.
Heya, full clarity if you have a moment.
I've seen that AI communities have had a trend of referring to something with minimal human involvement as vibe coding while giving Claude AI code a pass.
Can I get a full confirmation that anything AI-related is not used in any of this project's development?
This fix took us about 3.5 weeks to find and is the kinda stuff which resulted in us not wanting to give a specific release date for the recomp. We didn't want to over-promise, run into a race condition like this with some deep buried nonsense, and then run past the date
Summer 2026
Donk Recomp: We have fixed (easily) the biggest issue with the recomp left - The audio engine.
There's a race condition within the audio code. On higher-end systems, this would not result in any issue. However, on lower-end systems, it could do one of two things: Kill the audio or crash the game.
Somebody asked me on Reddit why people who use AI to generate Recomp projects are currently being rejected from the communities and what they can do to fix this.
I might tweak parts of this to be a more general blog post at some point, but this should be of help to anyone in a similar situation.
