lol idk why but I shuddered when I read they ate a cold meal.
Anytime books/movies/shows have a point to get across with food it hits me bad. 🤣 perhaps it's because it's almost noon and I haven't eaten.
ha ha hope you enjoyed your lunch by now!
Food is a theme in my novel, as I like to also point out what resilient foods might be sustainably harvested across the country, and how people could survive without the food systems we have in place now.

I love this because I think about it way too often. Like if we didn't have Freezers, which was recently sparked by the instance in France where they went down. But I think about it in general. Given climate differences states to state, and even in certain areas.
And I ate some chicken and eggs. 😋
Oh but in our modern sensibilities, all protagonist characters that are not LGBTQIA+ themselves are "allies", but their society has moved beyond discrimination, so it's not really a concept to be an "ally", everyone is free to be who they are and love who they love. It's set 200 years in the future
Homey campouts turning into hike, pass out, eat some slop, repeat made me laugh, and fourteen miles from the ally village sounds close and very far at the same time. Are they sure of their welcome when they get there?

Since my editing project will be Master's License, it's time to start teasing it now. Kelleen is the main protagonist and the book is only her POV.
One morning, the HR lady gave me a greeting full of sarcastic sunshine. After work, she aggressively passed me in her car. My anxiety was bad. I'd get in bed and cry after work. Enough was enough. I put in my notice to quit. The HR lady said she thought it was for the best. #wipsnips

My snip for the word of today: Pass
I have plenty of passes, passed away, compasses and a mountain pass.
They just gained their eggs and now have to travel to Veltharyn.

When I go to NYC I often think of how so many people are tucked in those apartments above the streets! The enormity of it all as you walk through the city
I did my best to keep up with Cooper. But those blind passes he could do with JJ? Not happening with me. He didn’t say anything about it, but he didn’t need to. I had a list in my head of all the stupid moves I made that JJ would never.

It always makes me stop and think about my own. Who will care enough to keep coming? And for how long? Thinking about our own mortality is certainly depressing. These were lives. People filled with stories. They weren’t meaningless yet, as time goes on, 🤷🏻♀️
I wrote an essay about a cemetery in college and now I want to dig it up! The prompt was to go somewhere new in the city our university was in and I picked that!
Footsteps and two men’s muffled voices approached down the hall.
Lifting her head, she wrapped her fingers around the corners of the book, and listened for them to pass by.
The footsteps stopped.
Jeanne squeezed her eyes tight, praying they wouldn’t open the door.

Jeanne gripping the corners of the book while the footsteps stop is such a tense little moment, and the praying brings it even closer. Is the book the reason she is hiding?
Thanks for reading. 😊
Jeanne is a 14th c. French girl who is fascinated with books. She snuck into her grandmother's library and is afraid of getting caught. In this scene, she will meet the illuminator who will make her famous prayer book in the years to come...when she is queen of France.
A girl slipping into her grandmother's library just to be near the books, and meeting the man who will one day paint her prayer book, is a lovely thread to follow. Does she have any idea yet that she will be queen?
