FEMA will stop knocking on doors to provide aid to disaster survivors, per a memo obtained by WIRED this week. It comes as the agency is shifting responsibility for recovery efforts to local authorities. Oh, and it's hurricane preparedness week, btw.

“Boots on the ground?” Looks like the government’s boots were made for walking…away from helping. “Ending door-to-door canvassing, one FEMA worker says, will ‘severely hamper our ability to reach vulnerable people.’”

When I lost my house in the 2008 Cedar Rapids IA flood, they came to the property while I was digging through the muck for anything salvageable, & helped me fill out the necessary papers. Right on the street. I had money in my bank account within a week.

Well they are about to find out in the next few months. Considering how bad the admin has fumbled basic things, any level of hurricane will be beyond a disaster. Most are red states so all those govs better be ready to be taking blame from the mango doughboy and his cult

Timing THIS perfect can only be planned to make it blatantly obviously as being planned Question is, why is it timed during this mo, not last or next mo? Every plan for destruction is a clue. We miss the clues that test our resolve to overthrow the criminals AND those allowing the crimes 😉

I was always tired of hearing news reporters finding some individual in every disaster to say to the cameras that they hadn't heard from FEMA even though FEMA was trying to reach everyone, even in very difficult situations. Now I will believe it when they say they received no help from FEMA.

"shifting responsibility...to local authorities" umm. that's why we had a FEDERAL EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT AGENCY because we pay federal taxes to have a trained response from the entire country in an emergency NO LOCAL AUTHORITIES have the training, money, or personnel to handle a catatrophe

It will be interesting to see how the increasingly impoverished Red states handle the extra public responsibility abandoned by FEMA thanks to the Repugs insane leader. After all they have such supportive social programs don't they - not!

Remember when the mango mussolini spread a false claim FEMA was going to give undocumented migrants houses that belonged to people who had to evacuate during the hurricane season. To have rednecks attack FEMA workers because they believed the orange dipshit.

Shifting to the states while still taking federal taxes. If the states have to be responsible for everything then I no longer expect to pay the federal government. Especially since they have cut all services that benefit the actual people.
