In 2026, Trump’s policies are estimated to leave the middle fifth $1,700 worse off and the poorest fifth $750 worse off. The richest 1% are projected to be $12,560 better off, largely because of tax cuts. That’s the distribution: higher costs for most, a windfall for the top. That is their estimate.
