EASY: "I just want the story and characters."
NORMAL: "Don't pull no punches!"
HARD: "I like trying just a LITTLE too hard."
SWEATBAG: "1CC No Damage runs make me feel superior."
JOURNALIST: "I don't actually care, I'm writing an article."
okay but sincerely it'd make sense for a game to just
disable story content on harder difficulty modes
because you're clearly not playing for THAT, you're playing for challenge run/speedrun reasons
why can't i have both, makes no sense
a harder difficulty is more fun and more rewarding for me, and also im paying attention to the story, the harder difficulty is what keeps more more engaged to the game
Yeah, speed runner mode should be a thing so that we don’t have to watch everyone play it in a language they don’t understand because it has less text to skip.
I've been informed that this Tumblr post that I stole and reposted because it was funny didn't incorporate the entirety of all incidences of difficulty settings existing in all games everywhere, so I would like to formally apologize to all the people who have no concept of reading comprehension
In the future I'll do better at explaining the joke in a way that makes it accessible to people whose primary mode of interacting with the world is trying to get past all the levels so the anime girl's titties are finally out
ACtually this is a great idea for a game. You can either play as the pre built jacked of trades character designed to do this, The semi professional hobbyist who only picks it up due to aligned interest, Or the complete nobody freshly dragged off of reddit who probably can't go out without shaking
You know what’s weird? In the past, that whole “nerd” stereotype went from something worth mocking to a badge of honor, yet now, it’s looped back to the former.
I wonder if it will remain entwined in this dance for the rest of eternity.
It's interesting (and honestly kind of frustrating) to watch as the years of on. Nerd culture used to be utterly shit on by "normies" back in the 80s and 90s. Comic books, anime, video games? Those were treated as lame and you were ostracized for liking them.
*years GO on. My autocorrect has been smoking the weird shit lately and I have no idea why it will correct what I intended to say into something completely different.
Being able to play a game on its hardest difficulty was considered a badge of honor, not sweaty tryhard nonsense. Now all those things are mainstream and we get mocked for "gatekeeping" what we were mocked for enjoying back then. It's really silly. Just shut up and play lmao
It's twofold because you're not shamed for playing something easier, and someone who enjoys mastering the game mechanics to the fullest just gets that much more catharsis like "HAHA YES I'M A HUGE DORK AND I *WON*"
