once again i am left feeling really disappointed that "Amtrak round-trip from Portland to Seattle" was ≈$40×4×2 ($320 round trip), while driving my prius was... $50 in gas. feel like we lost the plot somewhere with mass transit

even for a single person this would've still been more economical, and like. what the fuck lol

at some point i'd like to get our passports in order so we can go visit Canada ... there's a handful of people we know up in the other Vancouver, among other things. but who knows how that'll end up working with how things are right now.

Might be worth looking into how far the WA E-ID goes for that. Under certain circumstances you can do limited passage with it, but I haven't sat down and figured out the details.
