So as a (former) particle theorist, I must step to their defense: in SU(N) gauge theory (like the weak and strong nuclear forces), some things get really simple as N -> ♾️ (and you can expand in powers of 1/N). ... and then we apply it to QCD, where N=3 So if 3 is kinda like infinity, then so is 4!
