If Ted Cruz went on a Sunday show and advocated for drinking more water and breathing air, I would have to re-think some things. Joking aside, the Protect College Sports Act is very American, in that it protects money. It is not pro-athlete or pro-worker. I'm writing my reps about it.

Democrats *cannot* support the Protection College Sports Act. It’s the most anti-labor coming out of this Congress. We cannot cap the mobility of black athletes, but not white coaches. My newsletter is up. www.thenation.com/article/poli...

also, regulate the shit out of the coaches, too. there is no reason they should be making more money than uni presidents (and sometimes god). prohibit transfers within a season. go hog wild.

…nothing to do w protecting our roster. students w zero hope of ever playing pro ball wander transiently from college to college hoping to get play time (they won’t) and, in the process, sacrificing their education. should players have NIL rights? absolutely. but they should be paid according…

…college ball first. the way this is all shaking out has been extremely disruptive to education, never mind all the other stuff. i say this as someone who comes from a fball family and loves the game, but i also think we should not be turning college sports into pro-lite teams.

it protexts money and the ensures the "correct" people keep more of it. The status quo is at risk and so Ted Cruz (with help from some Democratic dupes) is stepping in to ensure the rich(er) stay rich(er).
