There is no ethical Harry Potter consumption. If you MUST do it, have the good sense to feel bad about it and keep it your shameful secret, knowing you are actively hurting people.

Agreed. The more I think about it, the more I feel vitriolic about the whole thing. I even feel dirty I watched the trailer out of curiosity, mind you watching the trailer killed that curiosity and any want to sneak a peak on release, so some good came out of it I guess.

I was trailer-curious, also purely to hate-watch. But then I thought, don't YouTube videos get their creators paid just by me clicking their link? So I haven't viewed it as precaution. Videos and articles dumping on it, mostly by LGBTQ creators, would be more fun anyway.

I bought and read the books for my kid years ago, and Rowling came out as the vaguely human-shaped embodiment of shit. I am at the "dead-to-me dead-to-me" stage of "dead-to-me" Rowling. Especially since Rowling decided to shit on my kid's existence AFTER my kid became her fan.

Used stores or if you already had em in your collection are far less problematic. Although the anti-semitism should be a slap everytime you see it. Some just can’t give it up. I get the same feelings here in Georgia whenever anyone, especially queer friends, eat Chic fil a. Why?!
