Congrats to the Zed team. Incredible to watch the progress of Zed and the attention to detail I've rarely seen in software development (and that isn't a slight to other products, rather a statement of just how good I think Zed is). Thanks for a great IDE UX.

Zed 1.0 is a complete code editor built from scratch in Rust, running on Mac, Windows, and Linux. Five years of work by our team and community, exceeding a million lines of code. More capable than it's ever been, and still more performant.

1.0 doesn't mean done, and it doesn't mean perfect. It means most developers can quickly feel at home in Zed. If you tried it a while back and bounced because something was missing, this is our invitation to try again.

Personally, I would have waited for the "telescope" PR to be merged before 1.0, but I get it's all somewhat arbitrary :p Great work all around. Zed is great and I enjoy using it.

Nice, I hope it's merged soon! I can't recall which IDE it was, but I used something similar in the past and loved it. Maybe it was VS Code? It's been so long now.
