Folks, you know what I realized just today? If someone subscribes to my standard.site publications, it can actually outlast my domain. 😲 You can change your handle without losing your followers. You can change your whole blog's domain, without losing your subscribers. 💫

Feel free to correct me if I am wrong. In fact, I began transforming my site: preslav.me as a @standard.site publication, but I am yet to see the "killer" benefit of all that. Is there a place that explains them all in a sort of narrative, easy to understand form?
I think standard.site is cool because it's almost like the ATProto version of RSS, but with a way for apps to index ALL of the blogs that use it. For example, we can have a reader like Standard Reader, that is similar to an RSS reader, but with social & discovery features.
One of the huge benefits of ATProto is that it enables these kinds of integrations across different apps for all different kinds of data. Instead of, for example, RSS being restricted to the blog / reader use-case.
