Almost 90 degrees today, another major power outage (no me this time), and the cops announce they are headed out to Ocean Beach because of an "unpermitted" event. Helicopters. 🙁 People, traditionally, head to the beach. Very few people have air conditioning in SF. We call it Karl, the Fog.

Department of Disability and Aging Services plans to reduce the SF ReServe contract by $500,000 per year (compare to $43 million for Street Ambassadors!), about 50 percent, beginning July 1, 2026. This is a baseline, ongoing reduction, not a one-time cut.

If these reductions move forward as proposed fewer ReServists will be employed. That directly affects participants’ earned income and economic security. This affects real people and real livelihoods. SF Reserve is a vital community program. SUPPORT SF RESERVE!

Dear Sup. Bilal Mahmood : There you and the mayor go again, selling out your constituents. It is unconscionable that you propose cutting the property transfer tax in half.

You and our right-wing mayor also want to introduce a ballot measure that would raise revenue by eliminating a tax exemption currently in place for foreclosures, where property owners "voluntarily" hand distressed properties back to lenders.

But you haven't presented proof that the revenue would even out. The proposition probably wouldn't pass anyway. You represent the voters of the Tenderloin and the Western Addition, mostly renters. Why the hell are you proposing a giveaway to developers at our expense?

It also fundamentally undermines the large majority of voters who passed Proposition I, which has raised more than $500,000 million by taxing the super-rich. Why kill the only revenue stream that has consistently funded affordable housing?

Daniel Lurie, an amateur Jiminy Cricket swaning around with his expensive video team. I nearly vomited when I saw his post in front of City Lights today, yakking away without a clue. 🤢

Brigitte Bardot expressed far-right, nationalist, and anti-immigrant views, aligning her with extreme right-wing politics in France, supporting Jean-Marie Le Pen, leading to accusations of racism and fines for inciting hatred, which some observers connect to fascist ideology.

And why didn't you vote to support District 5's legacy businesses? Here in the Haight-Ashbury, we have several homegrown, culturally important businesses that serve the neighborhood and tourists.

We must stop these dangerous proposals from weakening San Francisco's nation-leading campaign finance and disclosure laws by encouraging the Board of Supervisors to pass the Good Government expenditure limit proposal instead. Time to get on board, Supervisor!

Chan, Chen, Fielder & Walton oppose these dangerous proposals: they support legislation to pass CA Clean Money Campaign's Good Government counter-proposal, backed by California Common Cause, League of Women Voters of SF, Indivisible SF to strengthen expenditure limits & make them more workable.

When Salesforce’s Marc Benioff called for the National Guard in San Francisco, many were shocked. But it was no aberration. The city’s billionaire class has completed its evolution—from technocrats to theocrats of a new, corporate American order. 🪡
