You are a game designer. You have so many ideas, and so few of them are published. Perhaps none of them are. Your WIP folder is full of genius, and you know it, but you cannot bring yourself to release it in an imperfect state.
This is for you.
Presenting THE 1E MANIFESTO.

Emily made this game look so inviting and also so functional. The design of the cards and references pushes the game into "anyone can play it" territory. It'll be a great choice for anyone looking to get their friends or themselves into roleplaying

Working on the art for this game brought me back to reading Hercule Poirot with my mom before bed when i was younger. I am so excited to share this game with her and she is not a rpg player, but I am confident Adam has made a great experience she'll understand as a fan of Agatha Christie's work.
Heavily inspired by Morrowind, Planescape and 70's Star Wars with a dash of bronze age and art nouveau. The mood? Conan after Conan: all the heroes are dead and this is the world they built.
That's OMIOS URES, my weird fantasy RPG. And it's FREE on itch.io!

If you have yet to play DEAD-PILLED or have a physical copy, and are unable to grab the game, let me know.
I have some spare and am more than happy to send you one, as well as resources on recognizing, researching, and confronting those who have been grifted into Red Pill thinking.
People will tell you that only certain folks should play DEAD-PILLED due to the mature themes, but I argue that if you want more people to recognize redpill dog whistles and further bleed the manosphere, then there should be more games like DEAD-PILLED.
More games should deal with mature themes.

I will never vote for an anti-transgender Democrat like Josh Turek and you should not either.
I'll probably be writing my case to abstain from a handful of races like his on Monday.
Josh Turek is showing the exact slippery slope I've called out, in real time.
Josh Turek of Iowa, Democrat, comes out with one of the worst anti-trans ads yet.
Not only is it an anti-sports ad, it proposes a ban on federal funding for gender affirming care. That would hit all medicaid and medicare patients, and any ACA federally-subsidized plans as well.
Horrific.
Hi folks. It's time for me to start worrying about November rent. I'm still hopeful for good job news this week but I can't count on it. I'll need to gather $1200 by the 1st, please share and help if you can, anything helps. Please take care of yourself

I've made a survey about scheduling, because this is a really interesting thing. I also have had a lot of problems with scheduling; it's one of the main barriers for a lot of rpg gaming I feel like.

we should all be pissed off at this btw.
if not because sex work is legitimate work and should be treated with respect, then because you should be concerned at attempts to gentrify online spaces as pretext to court investors and force out minorities so those spaces can become part of a portfolio.
Yeah, it seems like what some people want isn’t actually to *play ttrpgs,* they want the feeling of having a friend lay the table out for them and create the circumstances for social fun, and they’re simply willing to play a ttrpg if someone else puts that effort in, but it could be anything
I'd run double the amount of games if I didn't have to touch scheduling about it. Over the past year, I've been telling a bunch of people who say they want to play TTRPGs but don't want to GM that I'd run games for them if they do the logistics, and nobody has taken me up on it.
It is just demoralizing, perhaps, to realize that to you “hanging out and playing an rpg” is fun and easy, but is apparently much more of a pain to everyone else, to the point where it’s not something they literally ever, ever, ever attempt to initiate, despite knowing how much it means to you
I think cultural norms of RPGs and social dynamics in general are equally to blame, to be clear. It makes sense how we ended up this way. I just want to figure out how to change it, because WOOF now that I’ve noticed it I’m kinda mad at? Maybe all my irl friends? Just a little??

Idk man. I feel like when you’re in a band, *ideally* everyone knows that everyone wants to play with each other the same amount. I guess it also happens a lot that one person wants the band to happen more than the others and so ends up being the de facto manager, so. Hardly unique to us.
Surprise surprise, it’s hard to find people who are as interested in your super niche hobby as you are, but you need people in order to participate in that hobby, so I guess your fate is just to either be an event planner or never play, and THAT is why the forever gm is actually the forever planner

Which, on the one hand, is true of any kind of social event planning, so maybe that’s why people don’t see it differently. But as anyone who has run games knows, scheduling and maintaining even a one-shot much less a campaign is about fifty million times more work than “hey yall wanna get food”
We do not have to indulge your discomfort at having to share the world with ppl you perceive as different than you. Your discomfort comes from a very rotten place.
As a culture, we have to get a lot more comfortable saying yeah it sucks for you that you’re uncomfortable and that is a personal problem that you personally are gonna have to solve. And saying it to cis white women specifically.
I like to point out that the segregationist KKK wives in the 1950s were being truthful when they said they would be uncomfortable sharing a restroom with a Black woman.
The solution to this is that "uncomfortable" does not justify discrimination against other people.
Not to be a doomer on main, but *nothing* is going to return to those levels. I think those of us who were able to access and enjoy the material culture of this century should hold a measure of great gratitude that we were able to benefit from what I believe is historical peak of material exchange.
Time won’t stop just because shipping does. History doesn’t end when the internet finally goes down, or the last power plant closes. The good will persist, the bad will abide, and the struggle goes on as always, just with less stuff.
It’s okay, I think, to have less stuff.
Thanks for reading if you did. Apologies if it’s too surface-level of a thought process or analysis. I imagine to some this will read as too optimistic and to others as too pessimistic. I think this is more of just how I’m feeling about things from where I stand as opposed to a true called shot.

Not quickly and not without pain. I think the amount of resources we’ve wasted will become particularly clear in the decades to come, as more and more homes stand empty and rotting, stripped for parts to supply the places people actually live. Food trade will be the last vestige of the motor age.
And to be honest, it’s hard to feel like this is even speaking doom. It’s doom to capitalism, certainly. Doom to numbers-go-up incrementalism and futurism. But this too is futurist. It imagines that we do have a future. A future where we’re happy and fed and free and together with each other.

There is much rightful sorrow over what we are all about to lose, what we have already lost. But *someone was going to be around to lose it.* Our parents and grandparents spent beyond their means, as it were, and so did we for a time. But the silver lining is that the world will regrow.
The world is smaller than it once was, as is often said. But it’s about to get bigger. Places and people will feel further apart. Local communities will matter to more people due to simple necessity. Many of the changes that were made to reflect a small world will reverse over time.

I was a cocktail bartender in the heart of Manhattan. Every week, we would get shipments of beautiful bottles of liquor from all over the planet, products of master craftsmen of a hundred communities. And I knew that I was witnessing something that was both very special and very unsustainable.
"You won't debate me because you can't beat my IDEAS"—no, loser, I won't debate you because your ideas have been considered and rejected and no longer warrant debate, and the very act of engaging in debate frames you as better than you are and your failed ideas as worthy of anything but contempt.
Fascists don’t love big fantasy and science fiction because they find them artistically resonant or whatever. They like them because other people find them impressive. You’re thinking too hard.
If yall could share both the fund and the flyer in your networks, I would be deeply appreciative. I just want to get thru the last three months of the year with some peace.
Please reach out if you or someone you know needs a designer. And continue to share the fund where you can.
Thank you!
Y’know, the “forever gm” meme is kind of annoying. Gming isn’t something I dislike, it is my favorite way to play games. You know what I DO dislike? Being the forever scheduler. The forever planner. The one who’s gotta get the ball rolling every time. I think that’s like half of gm burnout for me
Someone else do the planning, for goodness‘ sake. As long as I get to run a system I enjoy with folks I like, I’m good. I’ll do whatever. Just tell me when to show up and promise me that everyone else will show up excited to play and I also just get to play the game I like. That’s the dream for me.
I am hundreds of dollars in debt and still need to make rent. Payments from jobs and other parts of my life are just not reaching me. Anything sent my way helps a lot
I'm in a bind and don't think I have any other choice: I need some money to help me survive. Sudden car expenses and bad luck took a lot out of me, and I just want to recover some stability. Any amount donated helps. I can't thank anyone who donates or shares enough.
