Always a delight to see baseball in Star Trek.

OTD: the Star Trek: Deep Space Nine episode "Take Me Out to the Holosuite," inspired by an episode of the 80s TV series "Fame" written by Ira Steven Behr. Turned out Max Grodénchik was the best player in the cast and had to play left-handed to make Rom look bad.

Manute Bol was the best.

HoopsAnalyst@hoopsanalyst.bsky.social

Hollander POTD Manute Bol. Sudanese C was drafted 31st by WAS in 85. Had immediate impact, leading NBA w/5 bpg as a rook. Was backup after, still led NBA in bpg in 88-89. Ainge: "he's the only guy who can stand 8 feet away & still have his hand in your face." Played thru 93. RIP.

For the second straight post season elimination game the Red Sox are starting Nate Eaton and Nick Sogard. Just staggering that these are the best choices. They didn't learn from having them start last season in the playoffs? This looks like a mid spring training lineup.

Alex Speier@alexspeier.bsky.social

Red Sox lineup features Jahmai Jones leading off and Nate Eaton in LF vs LHP Max Fried. No Anthony, no Duran. Jones DH, Rutschman C, Contreras 1B, Abreu RF, Rafaela CF, Durbin 3B, Sogard 2B, Story SS, Eaton LF, Gray P

I had a bootleg copy of this back in the 80s with no instructions on how to play but that did not matter one bit. This is a top tier C64 game all day long

Impossible Mission (1984) Another screenshot from Dennis Caswell's classic roguelite platform puzzler, Impossible Mission. If you know the Commodore 64, you know this game - and if you don't, it's one of the system's must play titles. It's very difficult, but also very enjoyable.

It's always a good day when a Kiko Garcia card shows up on my timeline
