Do we have agreed-upon language to shame people using audio out loud in public spaces when we aren’t a steward/authority of that space? Because there were three people out of twelve simultaneously playing stuff out loud while I was having lunch at a restaurant this afternoon and, dear Lord…

Well, that was certainly both something and something unexpected. Very cool to wait for this mystery moment in the bullpen. Very very cool to be on that field for a second time, and deeper. Not sold on Bananaball, but enjoyed moments.

This week’s #knitting #wip — started some socks because the cardigan I’ve been working on is too big to travel. These are Citrouilles d’Halloween by Ingrid Baudine. Kept the lifeline in the cuff because I’m a little unsure on the gauge with my colorwork and went up a bit in needle size this time.

The library isn't your mommy or daddy. Nobody is forcing you to check out any books. Nobody is forcing you to read any books. If you don't like a book, don't read it. If you don't want your kids reading the book, grow up, be a parent, and choose a different book.

Nothing like having a teen girl stop you in your tracks to tell you your dress* is “really pretty.” Reader, she had very cool earrings and her taste could clearly be trusted. Flattery of the year for me! *It’s a basic, shapeless black dress with a slim keyhole. Nthg special but comfy for heat.

Bring back youth clubs with paid trained staff and community halls to put them in.

I had to say no thank you, provide two reasons (I don’t do this + it’s inappropriate), and finally physically turn away from a patron who would not accept a no on lunch together. “That’s strange, it’s a free country, you can have lunch with whoever you want.” Cool, I’m now enjoying my lunch alone.
