i got the new version of smartshop again, i don't know what's new but i will try to look into it later. also, i found a neat escape from the app that works on handsets still running android 5 (or 5.0.1?) even lets you hinder their MDM!

got the smartshop apk again, making the jump from 4.33.0 to 4.42.0!!! so far i've only noticed NectarRedeemService which introduces two new API endpoints. it probably has to do with changes in how you spend loyalty points archive.org/details/smar...

so it turns out that they have cut some endpoints: - wayfinding (locate items within a store, though i believe this wasn't ready for the public anyway) - guest account registration (does not affect user experience) - nectar offers (for non-brits, this is their loyalty scheme)

from the poking around i've done already, here are some fun things: - the app uses MQTT to communicate when they're docked and undocked - the in-store version can sign in with just a Nectar loyalty card. the public version can't do that - there's an API to help find items in store! did not know
