Throwback to my life in gaming circa 1990. Wearing a T-shirt that says “Die Harder” a free gift from seeing Die Hard 2 at the movies. The classic roll cart for the tube TV and gaming goodness underneath. The good ol’ days.

40 years! Iconic in every way. Crazy…it feels like not that long ago I was staying over at my friends, eating pizza and staying up late trying to beat this game. The game felt so massive in scale. I hope the younger generation feels that same magic in their gaming adventures. Happy Anniversary LOZ 🎉

We have a really, really good channel about videogames on YouTube. We’ve been covering the game industry, its products and its people since 1995. You should subscribe to it. You should help me spread the word. #PlayForever YouTube.com/EPNtv

Can’t believe it’s been 30 years ago yesterday! I remember deciding to rent one right after it lunched at Blockbuster and loved it so much I decided I wasn’t going to wait for the N64 anymore. So many good times with this system.

I finally found one of the rare NES test market era controllers from a pickup. The board is different and the crimpings for the controller are wired vertically instead of staggered and labeled like the normal later model. Some models also have a resistor on the back.

Tariffs aside, I think the bigger fallout of the terrible communication by Nintendo has led to its loyal base feeling like they are being punished for upgrading to Switch 2. The pricing structures for new and old software clearly was a huge miss for a transition that Nintendo SHOULD be making smooth

1993 side-scrolling beat 'em up arcade game by Capcom, based on the comic book series Xenozoic Tales. The game was produced as a tie-in to the short-lived Cadillacs and Dinosaurs animated series which was aired during the same year the game was released. Lots of fun!

Looks incredible 🔥

New product announcement! There are incredible high-quality audio/video solutions for our retro consoles, but power has been sadly neglected. Not anymore. Introducing the RetroTap -- retro gaming power system. Wire up to 10 consoles to a single power distribution block! /1

Got one of those Summer Cart 64 flashcarts. Seems to work pretty well although I haven’t had too much time with it yet. A cheaper alternative to Everdrive that is also open sourced.

The Game Boy has some great platformers. Rare's Game Boy programmer, Paul Machacek, developed Donkey Kong Land as an original game rather than as a port of Country after convincing Rare co-founder Tim Stamper it would be a better use of resources. I think it paid off. Give these games a try 👍

Big pickup today. Happy to have this. Missing the manual and the hang tab is ripped off the box but otherwise a great copy. Only missing Donkey Kong Jr Math now from the original 30.

Been a rough 3 weeks. COVID went through my whole family. Things are better now and I wanted to post something cool I found cheap. Very used condition but very interesting poster from Nintendo and Kelloggs Cinnamon Mini Buns (bottom right). Love the old artwork.

Victor has done an amazing job bringing these classic episodes back to life. Give it a watch and see what gaming was like back in the 90’s! Great interviews and retro goodness in every episode!
