Stuck in my mind for decades - a hallway, in my aunt's home, looking towards the front door - 'the paper holds their folded faces to the floor, And every day the paper boy brings more' - speaks to me over and over of nothing arriving yet we wait and we wait.

Yep, 'Don't Stand So Close...' cracked open my awareness as a mature-aged neophyte in my early days teaching

Stoked that this little story has been nominated for Best Small Fictions: pitheadchapel.com/birthright-b... Thanks to the team at Pithead & congrats to the other nominees

Singling out is never good. I particularly liked Lee Fraser's 'Everybody Knows What Mum Needs' and in the short fiction, 'Trust me, Honey', by Angela Joynes. Now spank me and send me to my room.

Aussie mate [almost next of kin] would find my choice unpalatable but I'm going with Floyd. Man this mob changed the way I looked at everything. Forever. Broken glass and crawling on stomachs comes to mind.

It’s 1973 and you can attend only one of these concerts…which one are you attending?

Genesis, within my reach, unlikely, saw Mccartney and Wings here in about that time and got lost in 'the magic' that began that night. Awesome show. So, that's me. Go for it.

Maybe America should guarantee the mid-terms and also full term - surely no one is taking a vote for change as a certainty. That's not how Donald Trump has been operating guys and gals. And if you lose are you all gonna wait some more? Major, major issues. 😱

Alicia@aliciablackgirl.bsky.social

The fear of the midterms weighs heavily on Trump. Knowing he's done nothing positive for the majority of the American voting public, that his grifts are in full view, and that the tide of public opinion has turned heavily against him, he tries desperately to find ways to manipulate the US midterms.

16 contributors - that is tight! 💓

I'm choosing The Guess Who and 'these eyes' because their music arrived at a time when the flood was truly underway and I still listen to 'Road Food' quite regularly but their sound was a game breaker, mixing up ballads and rocky numbers, so yeah, that's my choice. Ta.
