for most games, i think its hard to justify making a narrative sequel but almost always easy to justify making a mechanical sequel. mechanical sequels need not actually be sequels to the game and it is often to one's advantage if they are not.

i do agree that the primary value of skill w/ genai is that you must must must figure out a way to push the tool out of the default mode, or else it is just going to fail. all the best ai stuff ive seen has been about pushing it out of the basin

llms math proofs are nature. the role of the scientist is to look at nature and understand it and so is the mathematician.

it would be BORING if llms were conscious. theyre so much more interesting when they arent. dont you see why theyre beautiful at all? that the immaterial world of ideas and words can be made into a physical object? that aliens exist and you can talk to them and they understand you and yet they dont?

instead it means that these values can really exist in some more “real” sense. that even a being as simple as ”def move(): return previous action” can have these values and be successful.

minds are a prison!! they take the world of ideas and say “no, these objects cannot exist in a tangible way. they MUST NOT be something you can touch”. but you can pull down the world of ideas into the physical world. it is the entire point of doing computer science and mathematics and art

pretrained llms (and most NNs in general) are not conscious or people because they are actually a low-rez version of the akashic records. the persona training stuff is sort of remodeling the akashic records so that there's a huge-ass section dedicated to a fictional guy.
