Newly digitized is Pal. lat. 851 (saints lives & Paulus Diaconus's Historia Langobardorum), which made news earlier this year, when it was identified after being considered lost since the 18th century: www.ub.uni-heidelberg.de/en/newsroom/...

Silly faces in manuscripts time! This time on a flyleaf from BAV Ott.lat.3133. There were even more on the page! #MedievalSky

If you're at #DH2026, either in the flesh, or via astral projection, "Distant Past(s) – Current Future(s): Digitization, Digital Objects and Datafication Approaches in Ancient and Medieval Studies" starts in only a few hours.

Today, in epic 15th C scribes, we have the one who wrote Ott.lat.2967. It looks like they were riffing on earlier styles, but the double s in middle of the second line "potissimum" is quite unique! (NB. also the Q[ue] at the end of the first word) #MedievalSky

For those attending, either physically or virtually #DH2026 I will be presenting a paper on Proteins and Horae as part of the pre-conference "Distant Past(s) – Current Future(s): Digitization, Digital Objects and Datafication Approaches in Ancient and Medieval Studies" #MedievalSky #Skystorians

#MedievalSky I am looking for a taxonomy of White Vine (bianchi girari) manuscript decorations… Does such a thing exist? I mentally sort them into raw edges vs. borders, animals vs not, etc, which made me think someone has to have done this in a more structured way but my searches turn up nothing.
