It’s finally happening! Strawberry season!

Phoebe is very pleased with the return of her hiding spot in her garden. Note: she only goes out supervised and kills nothing but June bugs.

I woke up with such anticipation but alas, it hasn’t happened. Maybe later today? Tomorrow? Soon?

Another morning. Waking up hopeful for THE best news headline. Alas, more disappointment. I never expected to be a person who wished for the ultimate demise of another, yet here I am. Happy #Caturday

Recap of the convoI had with my MAGA mother: Trump is withholding the Epstein files because he has dossiers on every world leader that he’s using to threaten them so they ‘behave themselves’ and along with the tariffs is making America great. I literally have no energy left for this nonsense.

I mock Phoebe for not being very bright…but in the midst of this frigid, snowy day she definitely knows where to lounge. #furnace #maximumwarmth

They released 10%…so, that means Trump is in 90% of the files? The math maths.

We live in the direct flight path of the helicopters flying in and out from the hospital next door. Every time I hear one I feel an immense sense of gratitude that it’s not me or a loved one in transit and I throw out a little good juju for all those involved.

I want to install a flagpole in my front yard so I can refuse to fly a flag at half staff.

Friendly reminder that you reap what you sow.

Sure sign of a new school year…sad, sickening and heartbreaking for the families in Minneapolis.

It’s the Dade-Collier (and/or) Big Cypress (National Park) Concentration Camp. I will not dishonor the native Seminole peoples by using their work ‘Ochopee’ to name this horrific place. Don’t give it a reality TV, video game name. Call it what it is.

Any local or state LEOs or people adjacent that would know, question: If we call 911 when masked, armed, unidentifiable men show up at our places of business without any identification or warrants trying to kidnap people would local jurisdictions arrest and charge them with impersonating a LEO?

May 30, 2025 Part 2 Garden is coming along. We’ve had very cool, mild weather with plenty of rain. 700+ gallons of rainwater on hand for dry months.

May 30, 2025 fig update and some lettuce. Sad news…I may lose my Chicago Hardy to mosaic virus. My VDB are doing well, so I have that going for me.

May 21, 2025 fig update. My Violette de Bordeaux cutting are coming along!

May 19, 2025 Strawberries First strawberry harvest, if I can call it that. I’ll take what I can get. Hopefully we have some consistent rain and my June-bearing fill out and plump up.

May 16, 2025 Mini Garden Update Counting the days until strawberry season!! These are my ever bearing.

May 16, 2025 Mini-update Black seeded simpson that volunteered in this planter! It’s beautiful! And this inspires me to try to dormant seed this and other greens this fall for an early harvest next spring.

May 14, 2025 Fig Update I managed to overwinter my Chicago Hardy in the garage and I have two Violette de Bordeaux cuttings starting to green up! #gardentok #gardentotable #growyourown #frontyardgarden #urbangarden #kats2025garden #usdazones6a6b #usdazone6a #usdazone6b

May 14, 2025 Garden Update Cold spring, slow start. But it’s coming along. Identifying areas for improvement and making notes for fall work and next year. #gardentok #gardentotable #growyourown #frontyardgarden #urbangarden #kats2025garden #usdazones6a6b #usdazone6a #usdazone6b

#HoosierSky Keep standing up and getting loud!

Sorry for the weird echo in the first few seconds.

Spring has been very slow in coming this year. I feel very behind compared to past years. Things are coming along. #gardentotable #growyourown #frontyardgarden #urbangarden #kats2025garden #usdazones6a6b #usdazone6a #usdazone6b

The energy felt even bigger than this group looks! The people are pissed.

Favorite signs, Round 2. Great turnout considering the weather and redness of Indiana. #indianapolis

A few favorite signs from today’s protest. #indianapolis #jezebels

Every retailer in the country should add a line item to their receipts naming ‘Trumps tariff tax’ his cult swallowers can see what he’s costing them.

To everyone asking “how is this legal?” IT’S NOT! And they don’t care because not one of them have ever been held accountable for their actions. Stop expecting court orders and injunctions to do anything. They will not stop until they have everything. Question is, what can WE do to stop it?

I know it’s barely mid-March in zone 6a and this is known by some as ’Fool’s Spring’ because it tricks us into thinking Winter has ended. I prefer ‘Spring of Hope’ because these warm snaps wake everything up and bring a little hope that there might actually be an end to Winter.

If the US invades Canada to get its resources isn’t that like Russia invading Ukraine? How’s that going?

I don’t expect my Indiana senators to consider my leftist opinion. I’m outnumbered here. I get it. But it’s really disheartening to see the work and impact of grassroots movements in blue states being undone by their senators who they voted in. Now we’re fighting the right and left.

Dems, hold town halls in red districts where people are pissed. Ask them what they need. Ask what they want from you. Tell them how you will address their concerns. Use their anger before it dissipates. I have no doubt you know who’s running in the midterms. Use the anger to ask for their votes.

Folks: I am NOT affiliated with the group that is using my name to support an economic boycott. Please spread this post, if you would.

if they want to go back to the 1950s, we’re bringing the cuisine back to the 1950s too. you put me in the kitchen, I will spend 100% of my time in there finding how much horseradish and shrimp I can put in Jello before God personally comes down here to stop me.

MAGA tagline: “As long as I get mine…” The Find Out is going to be brutal.

It appears TikTok is working at the moment, at least for me. I admit, it feels sketchy when I’m there, like weirdly unsafe or untrustworthy. Like an unreliable friend saying “trust me.”
