Ace Combs Art

Situational awareness. From here on in it's all politics-- liberal, union-informed, separation of church and state, art as message, anti-fascism, anti-racism, anti-war, anti-misogyny, anti-transphobia, anti-intolerance of any stripe, anti-Trumpism, anti-genocide, anti-anthropogenic climate change.

Between Ramaswamy trying to shame a sexual abuse victim, RFK Jr. going full racist, and Trump obsessing over people's asses, I beginning to think the MAGAs don't understand what an "October surprise" is supposed to be. You're not supposed to surprise yourself.

Tim Scott's wife has this same exact expression in every photo. It's like she was making a face when she was a kid and somebody slapped her on the back. Kind of an internalized horror. I think the caption for this photo should be "Does this beard make me look straight?"

If you've stared in horror over the past two year, hands clasped over your mouth, or your fingers rubbing your temples, or plugged your ears when he spoke, it's time to do something better with those hands. Use them to fill in a couple of little boxes. Vote and free your hands for better things.

"They used these herking big magnets to pull bombs from our bases in the Gulf of Trump to bomb themselves. (BLAARP!!) Nobody knows more about magnets than I do. We sunk their magnet boats and now the magnets don't work anymore because magnets don't work underwater."

AI is a parasite that kills its own host. If AI becomes the dominant medium eventually it will have to rely on itself for learning input. That will degrade the AI, which will degrade the AI, which will degrade the AI...

"Trump approval hits record low in new survey" This headline has been run by news media for something like 30 days in a row. He thinks he's at 60%? He's never been above 50%. Never.

Steve Bannon must be turning over in his grave. What's that? Are you sure? I'm gonna have to look that up.

Yesterday there's this ad, intended to stoke racism Also yesterday, the GOP chair of Saratoga County resigned after racist recordings of him emerged Also yesterday, video of GOP candidate for state rep. Joe Mitchell making racist comments emerged Also yesterday, Trump called Somalia a shithouse

My stepmother had dyschronometria, where she couldn't remember what day it was--one sign of dementia. Trump suggested today that people vote in 2 days, The election is 12 days from now, on a Tuesday, not Monday, of course. He also said he opened a steel plant in IA last week. It was in September.

Congratulations, Canadians. We had a separatist movement in the US. It was called the Confederacy. It did not work out.

I just finished "The Glass Hotel" by Emily St. John Mandel ("Station Eleven"). SPOILERS AHEAD. It's about interrelated lives and centers on a Bernie Madoff-type Ponzi scheme. As it collapses a new hire is sent out to buy lots of shredders. Keep an eye out, DC residents, for mass shredder purchases.

"The Classic Trick The Left Loves To Play" Oh, you mean that trick where a GOP jerk does something offensive and disgusting and even the GOP is offended and disgusted? That one?

Kitten killer, rape enabler, fugitive, unfit mother and felon--Donna Arthur is a real pile of catshit. Dr. Acton OTOH proves that DNA is not destiny, the Trump DNA notwithstanding. Ramaswamy proves he's the jackass and con man he always was, unfit to lead a kindergarten playground, much less Ohio.

I live in WA, a mail ballot state. I dropped mine in a ballot box today. WA is very blue. We haven't had a GOP governor since 1985. My Democratic rep should easily win re-election. But don't get complacent. We don't have to win, we have to burn the GOP down and pee on the ashes then flush the ashes.

The longer you're in the Senate, the lower your chances for president because you often have to take difficult votes and you face more scrutiny. Only 3 presidents were elected directly from the Senate. That's why Barack served less than 1 term. Ossoff has to know the formula. He should run in 2028.

“I probably wouldn't run an ad like that," [You know, an ad that platforms a rape enabler and unfit mother and attacks the rape victim] "but every candidate gets to make their own decision,” [To remind someone who was 12 of her personal nightmare] --Ohio Sec'y of State Frank LaRose(R) Weasel.

What "wrong" is Musk talking about? Does he have a drug habit? Has he failed to parent his 14 children? Has he manipulated companies to become monstrously rich? Is he an unrepentant fascist? Did he gut government services, costing taxpayers billions? Did he kill Ukrainians? I'm totally stumped.

Ramaswamy, who made his billions in dubious pharmaceutical schemes, crossed a line by having Acton's mother (who lost custody of her kids when Acton was 12) denounce her then doubled down by buying $4M of airtime to air his vile ad, despite records proving her an unfit mother. Acton's response:

From Amatignak Island in the Bering to Quoddy Head on the Atlantic, an iron curtain has descended across the Continent.

Trump was told about the anti-semitic nature of the term "Shylock" last year after he used it in a speech, but today he used it again in Kansas. It's bad if he forgot, and worse if he didn't.

Donate like we're winning. Vote like we're not.

If they laugh when Trump's name comes up, he'll find he no longer has a seat at the table. And if Donald and Marco spend the next two years at the kid's table, at least it will limit the damage.

Says he has "serious problems" Hands bruised or covered in makeup Had neck rash the size of his neck Can't walk straight line Cankles like basketballs Grabs hand of whoever's closest to avoid falls Arms and hands spasm Tilts precipitously But, yes, except for the bone spurs, he's in perfect health.

This guy is making absolutely no sense whatsoever. Just once I'd like an interviewer to say, "Are you fucking high or just insane?" and demand a yes or no answer.

Your vote always counts. Always. In 2000, the presidential election was decided by 537 votes. Not 537000. Not even 5370. 537. That gave us George W. Bush, 20 years of wars in the Middle East, loss of status for the US, and the Great Recession. Remember that number. 537. Vote as soon as you can.

This is why we need to sweep these idiots out of office. The carrot analogy depends on the idea that you lure them with the carrot, not that you just give them the whole damn carrot.

You will never have one of these and it will never do this. Grow up, FFS.

Dangerous and unhinged as Grace Penn (Allison Janney) is on "The Diplomat", she is also erudite, focused, a formidable intellect, and surrounded by capable advisors and committed underlings. She a bully with brains as opposed to Trump, a bully with declining cognitive skills. It's time for the 25th.

When a Murdoch tool like the New York Post runs a story that basically says the president is gaslighting America, it's a recognition that Trump's war has accomplished nothing but raising inflation, bond yields, expectations of recession, geopolitical risk, and the hopes for a Democratic Congress.

If you live in a mail-only voting state, 15 minutes is about 10 minutes more than you'll need.

<“It’s a terrible thing, but thank goodness for a man that had a gun and knew how to use it,” Trump said.> The idea that arming everyone is the way to save children presumes that people know how to use guns vs. armed shooters. Maybe ask why a 16yo special needs student had a shotgun and ~60 rounds.

Yeah, bigger bombs. That should do the trick. Or possibly not.

We may soon have a new unit of measure. How many Zacharias in a Scaramucci?

12 days of diesel for selling out Zelensky and Ukraine $50K in a bag to buy Homan $200M to make billions in fines go away $100K on an Amex card to gain tax favors $2M for Presidential pardons Who says that America's become too expensive? This administration sells itself at very affordable rates.

In the land of rapists, the rapist who can hit the hardest and has the worst impulses and anger issues is king.

What I'd want from a Democratic House is impeachment (not Trump--he'd be judged non compos mentis) but each member of his Cabinet, one by one, starting with Hegseth. Once they tackle affordability and end the war, all I want to hear from Congress is a steady drip, drip, drip of self-incrimination.

The Roman used capital punishment to keep Christianity from spreading. They often killed the converts with lions and tigers and bears. It's not surprising that the head of the church of Rome might be little leery of spectacles built on someone being killed. What's next, crucifixion?

"Dutch Disease" refers to the Netherlands' sudden increase in oil wealth in the 60s. It had the effect of making other industries less competitive, unbalancing their economy. AI (and its debt) is driving the Dow and Nasdaq, increasing bond yields and choking off innovation and development elsewhere.

Truth.

Hurricane Heinz is now approaching the walls of the Oval Office. Staff and Cabinet members are urged to evacuate.

Of course she's misunderstood. I can barely understand a word Melania says.

"Bread and circuses" was 1stC poet Juvenal's framing of the way Roman Emperors distracted from their failures by providing grain and gladiatorial death-matches. The wannabe Emperor is trying to cover his failures with bread in the form of cash, and televised gore. We better be better than this.

Trump says not to worry. He's got a Sharpie and a weather map.

Michael Dell's wife, Skeletor at the White House today. Apparently you can ask plastic surgeons for "crazy eyes" nowadays.

Trump has been often been referred to as "Teflon Don" because none of his many scandals seem to stick to him. You know how Teflon-coated pans wear out over the years and get crusty and then everything start sticking to them? That's Trump now. He's at Late Stage Teflon.

We late night folks see the change in shifts as the Asian media takes over Google searches, and later as BlueSky starts commenting on British politics. For those of us Americans with a world-aware outlook, it broadens our view of how the US is perceived. At 4 am on our West Coast, London's calling.
