The results of this investigation should come as no surprise -- Arizona has some of the strictest laws in the nation when it comes to ensuring that only eligible voters can vote. Those suggesting otherwise are trying to undermine trust & spread confusion.

Trump and his allies have been pushing the SAVE database as part of a broader effort to create distrust and confusion around our elections, laying the groundwork to challenge results they don't like. It's critical that we continue to speak up and fight back.

But today's decision won't have an immediate impact on the midterms. The law is clear: because we're within 90 days of the election, counties are not allowed to conduct systematic voter purges using SAVE or any other database.

Still, if you're an Arizona voter, you should check My.Arizona.Vote before October 5 to make sure your voter registration is accurate - it only takes a minute! If you encounter any problems while registering or voting, call the nonpartisan Election Protection Hotline at 866-687-8683.

SAVE was created to help states verify the citizenship and immigration status of people looking to apply for government benefits - not screen voters. Using it to review thousands of voter records at once leads to frequent errors that can block eligible citizens from exercising their right to vote.
