Over 55,000 Wisconsinites cast in-person absentee ballots during the first day of early voting. Voting early is a secure, accessible, trusted voting option in Wisconsin. Tens of thousands of Wisconsinites vote early every year, and it’s a great option if you want to beat the Election Day lines.

The Appleton City Council voted last night 11-1 to ban ALPRs with limited exceptions. This historic legislative victory was won entirely through the tireless dedication of local residents.

Thank you to the poll workers and election officials who work tirelessly to protect our democracy every election season. We see your efforts and we’re grateful for all your hard work! #ThankYouElectionHeroes

Targeting elected officials and judges for defending our rights and opposing the president's abuses is straight out of an authoritarian playbook – and we must act immediately.

The Trump administration continues to use the deportation machine to attack political opponents, this time sending ICE agents to search Representative Ilhan Omar's home. Add your name to our petition and demand that these blatant abuses of power end immediately.

ICYMI: We filed a petition directly with the Wisconsin Supreme Court asking it to require the government to obtain a judicial warrant in order to search data collected by ALPRs like Flock and Axon cameras.

BREAKING: The ACLU of Wisconsin and the Electronic Frontier Foundation today filed a petition directly with the Wisconsin Supreme Court asking the Court to require the government to obtain a judicial warrant in order to query data collected by automated license plate readers.

We're bringing the case on behalf of @wichurches.bsky.social and an individual pastor. Our lawsuit asserts that retroactive searches of this kind of ALPR data amounts to a “search” that must comply with standards mandated by the Wisconsin Constitution. www.aclu-wi.org/press-releas...

The midterm election is coming on November 3, and there are three binding referendum questions on the ballot. We oppose the anti-equity amendment, Question 3. If this amendment is passed, it would eliminate the equity-based civil rights gains Wisconsin has made over the last 60 years.

Milwaukee County Executive David Crowley’s proposed budget does not include funding for Flock surveillance cameras. Under this proposal, the $140,000 currently allocated to Flock would be redirected to Legal Aid Society's Right to Counsel program. We applaud this. urbanmilwaukee.com/2026/10/01/m...

At least 57 people have died in immigration detention since 2025, more than double the number of deaths recorded from the previous 4 years combined. As egregious as the current mortality rate is, it still does not include an accurate death toll resulting from the neglect in ICE detention centers.

All automated license plate reader cameras will be removed from county parks. These cameras effectively created a government-accessible record of who came to a particular park on a particular day. This is another win for the movement against constant warrantless surveillance of our communities.
