#project2029 Regulate what can and can’t be considered “news” for false and single-source info. All news outlets have to buy licenses from a US bureau to get on TV and to get on any kind of app store (roku, iphone, fire stick, etc) on US devices. License money pays for validity audits.

Someone should make an app called HumanGPT, and instead of a chatbot you get another random person using the app. It’s basically Chat Roulette, but at least it’s a realistic conversation with a human person :p

I just found out we used to eat salads like the leaves were little tortillas, to wrap other foods and dip them in sauces. We only started making our own lives harder when rich people started using salad forks. Please can we go back to eating salads normally, I can’t deal with these leaf shapes 😫

It would be cool if the AI bubble pop happens in 2029, exactly 100 years after the great stock market bubble pop in 1929. Not great, but kinda cool nonetheless. Our great-grandkids in 2128 would be very freaked out.

Why do we still use robotic “press 9” menus. Just put that shit on the website as an option for what phone number to click on. Like… we *have* the technology. The fuck are we stewing in agony for.

Did Europeans only end up with Sofas because of big boots needed for cold weather? Equatorial cultures seem to always have cushions with mats, low stools, etc. I wonder if warm weather is the common denominator, and boots/cold is the force that drove us up off the floor.

We should put PBS, CSPAN, etc. on all streaming platforms (Netflix etc.). Make it just as ‘available’ as it was before streaming. Put it back on the ‘menu’ next to all the other shows, like it used to be with Cable. Give people the option to connect with their local community & government.

Slightly cooler weather today in Central Texas. I know it’s probably just a post-rain afterglow, but today’s slightly drier, slightly cooler air almost makes me feel like we’re somewhere else in the country - perhaps Denver, or east coast. It’s a good day.

It’s nowhere near Fall/Winter yet, and I know tomorrow will likely be a pressure-cooker again. It does, however, feel like Autumn is lightly touching us on the arm and making brief eye contact. Today is getting my jaded hopes up 😭

I never realized how growing up poor makes every customer service interaction 10x more stressful. When you grow up shopping at discount stores like Walmart, you expect to be treated like crap. Even in an emergency, you won’t ask for special treatment. 1/2

2/2 Growing up middle class, going to stores like Costco or small businesses, you feel like you can ask for help like a neighbor. “Rich attitude” is a much lower stress way to live. #WhitehallStudy #healthoutcomes #healthdisparity #publicHealth

Having someone explain something to you is such an underrated way to bond. It sucks that you don’t ask other people simple questions anymore, since you can just google everything. You wouldn’t want to be rude and make someone think you’re too dumb or lazy to look it up on your own.

British Airways’ customer service answering machine is so bad it makes me want to start finding British stuff to dump into the harbor. It’ll tell you to say out loud what you need, frantically assert you can find your answer on its website, and hang up on you. Ffs, imperialism and now THIS??? 😂

People don’t understand — Southerners have a top-secret, highly specialized “unsweetening” technology that can remove sugar from already-sweet tea. That’s why they call it “unsweet tea.” We don’t unsweeten other foods and beverages, because - why would we?

One time as a kid I wanted a macbook so bad, my dad told me to write up a “proposal” as a way to get me to shut up about it. Ngl, it was a genius parenting move. I got experience making a presentation and arguing my case, and he got peace and quiet before having to shell out for his snot-nosed kid 🥸
