Yes, that's Pittsburgh in my background image but I live in Seattle. I like good shots of skylines and that's one of the one's I really appreciate from my travels!

Ok, in your opinion, why does the Windows operating system still exist? Just curious what your take is, from that strategic position Microsoft has these days. Thoughts?

Just curious, I know of, at least in the past, something was in the works for this section of Bellevue. But I've no idea what it would be called or what the project was. Anybody got a lead on this project area?

AI won't fix your bad habits for you, it'll just compound them. It's on your shoulders to identify and fix your bad habits, improvement is still your job. You could however ask AI about your bad habits and tell it to give em' to you with brutal honesty.

Ya know society judges you if you’re vapid enough to buy one of these new Tesla’s. Yer in bed with an absentee father, scummy misogynist, pseudo-Nazi, Ukrainian murdering, boot licking fascist with a penchant for doing Putin’s bidding, and maturity stunted shit show of a man. 🧵 1/2

What even is your deal? Just super cringe and suspect all rolled into one bad valid decision. 🧵 2/2

As I’m on the light rail heading into the city, I’m listening to some Softies (ie Microsofties) talking about the fear of AI, how new students are disappearing for Comp Sci and a whole bunch of other thoughts. 🧵 1/2

It’s kind of fascinating to hear people actively discussing the fear and terribleness of Gen AI. I’m going to elaborate on it later but hearing them, I don’t worry much about my position but for folks coming into industry, holy shit so much is just obliterated! 🧵 2/2

If you’re curious. The back crate is one of the 6-gallon milk crates with three bungie cords holding it perfectly tight to the back rack. Bungee cords work great because there’s that little bit of leeway that keeps it from snapping things off.

Using an e-bike to go pickup the cargo bike via Link today. It’s nice to be able to take a bike to pickup a bike with a light rail ride in the middle trip segment.

I usually just take notes while I'm working on something that I will write up into an article, then work from those notes when I put the piece together. 🧵 1/5

It's definitely not the early era of AWS anymore, and it makes sense that they're attempting to push Q (or whatever the name is) so AI just sorts out the mess for ya. The way it is all organized (or not) that's about the only way you'll be able to make any sense of it all. 🧵 4/5

All that said, this is indeed a perfect example of where something that is relatively unusable can be made usable with some good models that know how to effectively use it via skills files or what not. On that note... back to the mines. 🧵 5/5

My latest I started working on, using AWS to deploy a rather simple API application, has become so complicated at this point I'm tempted to throw it away. The wild thing though, is that it is almost purely based on the utter chaos and madness that is the current state of AWS services. 🧵 2/5

There are so many and the interface has, at this point, become so jumbled and disorganized it is nearly impossible - without reading tons of material about where things are or have gone - to figure out how to get anything built and deployed. 🧵 3/5

Still amazing that AWS is wasting all that time managing that Python CLI when they could just move it to Golang and actually get us real native binaries that run cleaner. It's such a surrealist mess of glued together libs and all. 😑

They write this as if New York isn’t already pissed at so much of the forced shitty delivery culture from AMZN. Like another “threaten us with a good time” situation. 😂

To note, the transit is sort of oriented to serve the schools, but isn’t frequent enough to do that frequently. 🧵 1/4

Of course rush hour is then the same hilarious stupid shit show. That’s my real issue with auto-focused bullshit, is that it ends up under any stress at all (which is daily) just not serving anybody well. 🧵 3/4

Cyclists and pedestrians at least, if bike lanes, sidewalks, or such exist, aren’t impacted as much but still have to deal with the undeserved lethality of it all. 🧵 4/4

To note, the transit is sort of oriented to serve the schools, but isn’t frequent enough to do that frequently. 🧵 1/4

In turn we end up with the stupidity of parents driving young ones to school, the absurdity of the yellow busses, and the insanity of high school kids clogging up the road system everyday around 3:30 so that NOBODY is served adequately. 🧵 2/4

I realize it’s near impossible for the east side to have a “good” bus network cuz it was designed around the idiocy of auto-focused sprawl. But god damn Bellevue/Redmond has some of the worst connectivity for transit in the entire metro area. 🧵 1/3

Again, I realize the agency is working with a horrid road network of sprawl and bad logistical capabilities but ugh, this is painful. Seattle however is AMAZING compared to this whacko dystopian nonsense. What was the racist pseudo-libertarian pseudo-crony-capitalist-grifter dude’s name? 🧵 2/3

There’s all this nonsensical trumped up vitriol at cities. Especially from the closeted basement MAGA dwellers that are scared of everything. Meanwhile I’m rolling through Seattle via Link. Strangers laughing and carrying on about the day to day. 🧵 1/5

Living their lives, carrying on, putting their time and votes and energy into stopping Trump’s fear, hatred, and vitriol that would have us all be scared and hate each other. 🧵 4/5

But instead, I send from Seattle with love, a giant fuck you Trump and the ICE fascists you keep trying to split us up with and steal children and families from us. Seattle is rocking, I love it, and we’re gonna hold. We’re not gonna give up a better life cuz of an infirm dotard. 🧵 5/5

I got off downtown and went out with my bike via the bike routes. Passing more cyclists and scooter riders than I see cars. Seattle fuckin’ rocks! A few friendly head nods among those of us coursing through the cycling veins of the city and I drop into my destination to pick up a record. 🧵 2/5

🤘🏻 More chuckling and friendliness along with some sexiness to boot. I hear French and English and Ukrainian and Spanish. It’s beautiful and the people are too. 🧵 3/5

Got some rice crackers today I bought months ago. Paid that 40% or whatever tariff bullshit on. Thanks for more taxes Trump, you asshole.

I'm pondering a HSD P10e Sport | Tern Bicycles HSD P10e Sport is a 1-passenger electric cargo bike, certified to UL 2849, with Bosch eShift for wireless auto-shift, Smart System, and Performance Sport motor. My question is - how well does this fit on the Link bike racks? 🧵 1/3

Does it fit on all the Link bike racks? I'm trying to ascertain this to determine what kind of issues I'll run into. What is your experience with the actual battery consumption? How fast does it bleed off during a steep & hilly ride? 🧵 2/3

I'm not sure about everybody else. But having an "AI Bot" that attempts to sound human - EVEN WHEN SELF-IDENTIFYING AS AN AI - is the absolute worst red flag you can put forward when attempting to recruit me or follow up with me about anything. Just don't have robots call me. 🧵 1/2
