Worst part of a new phone, which service did I use to sign into this app before??? Was it regular ole passwords? google? Apple?

I looked at the iPhone Duo in person. It will be amazing for a lot of people I think, but a larger phone is ultimately not for me I think

build apps around your monolith they said, it'll be fine. yeah until you have 40 apps that feed into it that need ruby updates to fix critical bugs

I know I'm hella late in the have your agents work for you overnight, but hey better late than never. With my agent orchestrator I can queue up and approve plans and order them how I want them to be done, executed and merged assuming my guardrails pass and it 'proves' itself

we're cookin' with gas now, gotta cleanup the sidebar still it's a clusterf*ck, but now it's identifying, planning, asking for approval, and then working / merging / deploying on its own

Kinda funny but with most of my projects now I've went back to a Makefile so there's one easy spot for all my testing/build commands across all my projects so when I come back to an older project I just have to read my makefile to remember.

I would give my worldly possessions away to work with Drew again on an engineering team. Hire him. Or tell a friend. And have them tell a friend he's on the market again.

Welp... Got laid off from Podia today. Kinda a lot to process for a Thursday. I'll have something more coherent to say eventually. For now, send Ruby/Rails leads. Or dog pictures.... Both are good.

Absolutely brutal hearing about your old team having more layoffs. I know at least 3 great engineers who are looking for work. Let me know if I can put you in touch with them. Worked with all of them for years.

so we got a second kitten and the two kitties are hilarious. i just watched the younger kitten get pushed out and he fell off the window sill by the other kitten after he fucked around and found out. lmao

Back on my game of trying to make my toy programming language go fast. Not gonna lie, Ruby gives it a run for the money though.

Problem with making a few small apps is suddenly you've got four small apps, one everything app and yeah. All that to say, I've been kicking the tires on another native macOS app to handle the `apple container` stuff I use for work for managing my images.

Made a utility app for myself the other day too, now it makes it possible for my LLMs to capture recordings even when I step away so I can verify they work without being in my desk chair.

Playing a game of what if tonight, what if there was a visual editor onto of apps for those tiny UX tweaks that would update your html/erb or whatever πŸ‘€

Perks of your own typefaces: A more unique landing page look. Cons: You have to rebuild your landing pages. Rebuilding this page ahead of launching it soon (been working on it for a few months in the background) πŸ”œ.

if we ask my kitten, my face, or my hair, or my side are all great spots to sleep on. woke up multiple times to her making herself at home.

this is now a kitten fan page account (always has been tho). she discovered her tail and has been chasing it all day.

we have reached demon kitty stage, i let her out into my bedroom and she’s been bouncing off the walls, tub and anything else she feels up to

You can just make software for you. Been working on a project management app that brings all the things I need for me for a few weeks now. Getting to a point where it's usable! One of my favorite things is the check-ins so I can look back on what I accomplished.

It's too small of a world when you're reading a newsletter about a ruby stained glass project and a coworker's name pops up in it. Cool though!

Now that my conference talk is done, I'm getting back to work on Switchfeed my native iOS/macOS app for Bluesky and Mastodon. Then once I finish that I can tell myself I can pick up another project too. Beta testers using it already have helped me get so many bugs settled.

I’ve been tinkering with my own desktop environment built on Linux. still a long way to go but now it can update itself! gotta decide and commit to rounded or squared off windows and make it all match tho

my social battery is completely drained, but I’m so glad for the time I got to spend with friends at Rocky Mountain Ruby. οΏΌ
