This quote summed it up quite nicely: "AI generated code looks to experienced programmers the way AI generated art looks to experienced artists" At the lowest level, you can't deny the code is.. there. Zoom out and it looses coherence, elegance, structure and consistency.

It's OK, because it's Zionism...

Alex Neve@alexneve.bsky.social

Should be uppermost concern for every Israeli as they vote: "Israel has committed war crimes & crimes against humanity of extermination, persecution, torture, rape & other forms of sexual violence in OPT, intentionally targeting Palestinian civilians as it continues to commit genocide in Gaza..."

It's "new". This version is "better". It's not "burning the planet" Please stay addicted. (They misspelt Terror)

Seems a bit unfair if brand new players can get 10 times the starting value I have, even if they use my referral code... (Not that playing Star Citizen is about the money - it sure helps though!) (Here's mine anyway! www.robertsspaceindustries.com/enlist?refer... ) #StarCitizen

Good to know: every referral code gives new players the same 50,000 UEC. Mine is STAR-LCH9-WNJR https://bit.ly/3zXHVdd #StarCitizen #OpenWorld #MMORPG

Wait? This is called a Robin too?! Apparently there are American Robins. (They look louder and showier than the European ones...)

Today's #BirdOfTheDay alt theme is #robins. I love these little guys. Photo taken this past spring. Such sweet birds. American robin. #birds #photography #birdsofbluesky

AI is now directly destroying the natural world. What's it for, again?

I wonder if the downfall of other civilisations started with someone leaving work thinking, they've achieved something awesome. Probably. #AI

I’ve left Anthropic after more than a year of working on Claude Code and seeing it scale larger than I ever imagined. I have really loved working at Ant and believe deeply in the mission, and most of all, the idea of a race to the top.

Been away from #StarCitizen for six months. Just wanted to see what's changed - maybe just skim over the surface of a planet in my fighter. Five mins in, stuck between two invisible walls.

Google et al. killing the natural world so YOU can use save a few minutes, but be reliant for a lifetime. There's no such thing as ethical AI.

The mad worldwide data centre rush brings environmental vandalism to Finland. Google ordered to stop but it's estimated that a quarter of a million trees over the 330 hectare forest have been killed. www.theguardian.com/environment/...

This is so disappointing. But. Can I really complain? I use gas everyday. My house would not work without it.

Are we there yet? 😜 After eight years in space, Bepi and Mio can finally say: almost there! Send them a #WelcomeToMercury message and you could win a trip to ESA in Darmstadt, Germany, this December. Say hello 👇 esa.int/WelcomeToMercury 🔭

Why is there no "right wing" green-like party? What is it about saving the planet that makes it left?? How is protecting ourselves, and the place we live anything to do with any political leanings??? #WarOnClimateChange

Another live picture, looked down at the Earth as it passed Madagascar's southern edge, in the early evening darkness, there was a lightning storm seen from above, 400 km below, blue flashes illuminating the clouds from within. Glorious. www.sen.com/live #WorldSpaceWeek

⬇️ ‘Some staff are now asking when the #cuts will end, given some have been told cost savings have been divided into “waves” and more could be coming next year. One staffer feared a “doom spiral” of weaker output and an increase in the number of people unwilling to pay the [ #BBC] licence fee.’

Michael Savage@michaelsavage.bsky.social

NEW: BBC morale dented by gradual ‘bloodletting’ after weeks of cut announcements. Gloomy staff fear another wave of cuts next year. BBC Three/BBC Scotland ARE expected to go online only. More staff meetings on cuts this week. A tough time for staff. www.theguardian.com/uk-news/2026...

Did nothing suffer because of Brexit?! At least this one is being fixed.

Richard Corbett CBE@richardcorbett.bsky.social

UK and EU to work together on foreign aid. Coordination avoids duplication, cuts costs, and is more effective. We used to do it as an EU member. Good to see Britain starting to rejoin this, at least partially. www.politico.eu/article/uk-e...

It's not clear if anything changed in Greenland. It probably didn't. Just Trump lies and rhetoric. But the fact that Trump wanted something is enough to say no. Why does "that country" warrant anything beyond China or Russia?

Anne Applebaum@anneapplebaum.wsocial.eu

From the information available, it seems this US-Denmark deal over Greenland changes almost nothing. US had bases there before; US continues to defendsl Greenland because it s in NATO. www.nytimes.com/2026/09/18/u...

We need to redefine what "progress" means. Because, we don't still live in the 19th Century.

Abilu Tangwa.@abilutangwa.bsky.social

We built modern society on a single, unspoken commandment: Thou shalt grow the GDP forever. We optimized everything for this number. But we forgot one critical detail. The denominator is fixed. 🧵👇

#ThisIsAllOfUs "I woke up one day, and generative AI features were stuffed into every corner of all the software I rely on without my consent."

WIRED@wired.com

Platforms are finally recognizing that people don’t want to consume AI slop. A growing number of sites and apps now have tools and policies to flag, label, and ban AI-generated content. www.wired.com/story/the-ai...

@theguardian.com is using click bait again. The real story here is, rightwing (scumbag) media is attempting to blame Rewilding projects. They don't care about the truth or the #ClimateChange mess we are in.

For two hours I've been trying to get PHP to use my local SSL certs. file_get_contents() just completely ignores them. All LOCAL requests. If it wasn't so painful, it'll be laughable.
