I've owned USB C devices for a long time but for the first time ever, I'd had a piece of lint get stuck in the USB C port of my Macbook Air and I don't have the tools to get it out since it got compacted after I accidentally attempted to charge the laptop via that port.

and no this is not a Macbook with Magsafe, although I feel compelled to get one with Magsafe now

I find it really strange that there are companies that seem to boast about high AI token usage It's like they have forgotten that high token usage equals higher spend on AI tooling If you swapped 'high token usage' with 'high AWS billing' then all of a sudden they wouldn't be celebrating anymore

So I have a pretty powerful work laptop (M4 Pro Macbook) with a lot of Unified Memory and someone at work pointed out that I could potentially run some LLM models locally with Olama and feed that into tools like Claude Code and I'm very curious to experiment with this and see how it goes 👀

I've been posting across Bluesky, Mastodon & Threads since the downfall of Twitter I though the most likely drop in replacement would have been BlueSky but I'm honestly having a much better time over on Threads out of the three most recently

How software engineering goes sometimes: - Pick up ticket - Make small changes - Doubt the changes are enough & panic because clearly you've missed something - Get PR review...get told you did everything perfectly - Happy - Pick up ticket...

github.blogGitHub Copilot now supports OpenCode - GitHub ChangelogGitHub is officially supporting using your Copilot Pro, Pro+, Business, or Enterprise subscription with OpenCode. GitHub Copilot now fully supports authentication with OpenCode through a formal partnership, allowing you to…

GitHub Copilot has been a great for trying out & testing different LLMs without having to setup accounts/API keys with each provider but I found it didn't integrate into other tools like Cline Found a post saying Copilot supports OpenCode now so going to try this out github.blog/changelog/2...

I already have a feeling that Sonnet/Opus via Copilot + OpenCode might be a good combo for coding 👀

As someone that primarily uses a mechanical keyboard with a macbook, I really need to figure out a way to add TouchID to my keyboard I've seen these projects where people have managed to extract the TouchID module from an Apple Magic keyboard to make these stand-alone buttons but I wish...

it was something I could just buy off a shelf instead of having to tinker with a £150 keyboard & risk breaking it in the process I'd happily pay someone to do this for me - If there's anyone around London that's good at this sort of stuff let me know

January 2026 reading wrap-up! My favorite fiction novels this month were "Passing Through a Prairie Country" by Dennis E. Staples and "The Buffalo Hunter Hunter" by Stephen Graham Jones. "Future Boy" by Michael J. Fox was so much fun, too! And "The Guy She Liked..." manga is a new GL fave!!!
