'In 2017, when Brett Morgen began work on his acclaimed 2022 David Bowie documentary, Moonage Daydream, he was given complete access to the late star’s entire, cavernous archive. “My eyes were immediately drawn to a stack of gleaming 35mm cans with the word ‘Stage’ written on them,” he remembers.'

Even before the Tracy Arm tsunami last year, we'd considered screening the Norwegian feature film, The Wave (2015), as a sort of PSA. Perhaps we'll re-visit that idea.

Thank you everyone who attended, shared, or otherwise sent good vibes for my movie theater history talk last weekend. A success! I gave away a bunch of copies of my lesbian penguin tragedy history zine, though I have some left. Will figure out how to give them away

In 2017, we helped curate a screening of THE WORLD IN HIS ARMS (1952), a rather bizarre parallel universe version of the purchase of Alaska from Russia. The film had the only red carpet Hollywood premiere ever held in AK. And one of the stars--the young Ann Blyth--made the trip for the premiere. 1/x

We reached out to Ms. Blyth, to let her know about the screening. Not long after, we received a phone call from her, wishing us the best for the screening. It was incredibly kind of her to do so. We're thinking about her and her family, this afternoon. 2/2
