Municipal elections yesterday. I was so sure the incumbent would win, and a huge disappointment to me. BUT a young guy with new ideas won. I voted for him because we need fresh approaches and motivation. So happy.

Went to a restaurant that strives for the global Black experience through food. A set menu. I was disappointed in how small the servings were — knowing it is a tasting menu, but still. Five courses, two were soup and one was stew. Inhouse ice cream serving was about one tablespoon.

We went to very nice buffet for Canadian Thanksgiving dinner. I had lobster bisque, nice salads, roast beef, squash ravioli, and more. Here is my dessert plate. 😋😉

We watched Remarkably Bright Creatures last night. We recognized film sites, like the Vancouver Aquarium and Lions Bay, BC. Funny a main character is often there at the aquarium. We were there with our granddaughter, who has the same name.

I've been so frustrated and annoyed with provincial politics, basically all my life. Now I see hope. This is definitely someone we need.

This car was outside a grocery store, dog in the driver's seat, engine running. If they are going to be quick, why leave the engine running? If they are going to be a while...why bring the dog and why leave the engine running?

Mosquito season is over in my area, but I sure could have known this trick during the summer. I would have had less sleepless nights with buzzing in my ears.

At the grocery store I saw honey crisp apples in a bin marked as macintosh. I bought 8 lbs of ambrosia apples for $8. At home I realized if someone bought the honey crisp, thinking they are getting macintosh, they would have paid $32!!!! $3.99/lb

What does this say!!! A candidate with nothing positive to offer, from a corrupt, malicious party. Or a candidate who is a doctor and wants to improve the lives of citizens. Too many ignorant, misinformed people.

It's disappointing that I have this very attractive backyard with a nice patio, and we only sat outside for dinner maybe twice all summer, and never sat there much in the evening. So often just too hot. (Funny how people outside of Canada have no idea that this happens.)

Crazy!! My wife went to a cheesecake festival. A woman said she was full from lunch but still wanted cheesecake. She bought a $10 slice, said it was soooo good, ate two bites. And threw the rest in the garbage.

I'm not one to spend a lot of time in front of a mirror, but the last few days I have. With about 30 stitches around my nose, I have been watching the bruising and grossness. And today I realized my eyes are a different colour than what I thought. I've been wrong MY WHOLE LIFE.

My new toy. There are a few more attachments not shown. I made a smoothie in the container, plus there is another for grinding, and a masher. Quite attractive, well-designed set.

I made oat flour to make pancakes this morning, grinding the oats. I got a Braun immersion blender, with attachments, and used it for the fourth time in 2 days. Last night we made a black garlic sauce for crispy tofu. Quite nice. Definitely make again.

Seems hard to believe this is a city view. This is from my hospital room as the sun came up. My home is 7.5 km away in the distance. Home now. My face looking gross, stitches in for 3 weeks!!
