As part of my never ending retirement tour, I was informed that I was recognized on the House Floor, that was read into the Congressional Record. Most importantly, recognizing my Detroit Tigers fandom, so when they finally win it all, no one can claim I wasn’t a true fan.

My final day of employment was today, after 35 years. Naval officer, paper mill engineer, landfill mgr, air quality regulator, air quality assoc EO, and ending as an air quality lobbyist. My assistant, who’s been with me for 12 years gave me a going away Tigers mug and bottle of rye.

It’s been a good career with a lot of good people, and I’m looking forward to relaxing a bit now. Maybe get in better shape, maybe exercise my free speech rights a bit, read something non-work related, some volunteerism, and I really need to restart my banjo practicing.

Sent a heat pump permit streamlining bill (SB 222) to the Governor, and swapped out my home gas stove for an induction range this morning. With the sale price and local utility rebate, it was 75% off. Pretty good day personally for building decarbonization.

Anyone got a good passive headline for this to exonerate the driver of any wrongdoing? The speed limit in our neighborhood is 25mph and you’ll note that this happened right AT THE STOP SIGN!

No one told the Dodgers about the Skubal curse- you’re under .500 on days he doesn’t pitch, and when he does pitch, maybe your offense isn’t so great.

Millions of Californians are breathing cleaner air thanks to CA's Community Air Protection Program. In 19 communities, #CapAndInvest dollars helped reduce: ✅27,000 tons of air pollution ✅293,000 metric tons of greenhouse gases ➡️ bit.ly/4yWuebU

First Tigers game if the post Skubal era, and it’s hot here in Sac! Doesn’t help that we rode our bikes here out from the burbs. Today, I’m sporting the Alan Trammell jersey.

Malgeri and McGonigle going with the knee high socks outside of the pants in the classic style. Speaking of, I’ve seen a Dmitri Young and a Fidrych jersey today.

Trying to break my in person Tigers losing streak, which is at 6 games. For the occasion I have a new Troy Melton jersey, and Bev has a McGonigle. It’s 103 degrees and Dan Dickerson is probably complaining about it!

So we started chatting to these guys and they were all out from the D to see a game. They were Spartans. We marveled as Valencia, Clark, and Malgeri raked. And before you know it, it was 13-1. They have reservations at a fancy restaurant tomorrow “The Kitchen,” which I have never experienced.

3 fist bumps so far for my sweet Troy Melton jersey. Only old timer jerseys I’ve seen tonight- Granderson, Zumaya, Ordonez, and a Kaline (of course).

I’m at all 3 Tigers games in Sacramento this weekend, so I get to see the Max Clark debut during the upcoming fire sale. I can also show off my Troy Melton jersey except he’s not pitching.

Saw Lucero at a winery outside of Sacramento last night. Great show, and pretty bougie compared to the bars and basements of past shows I’ve been to.

SB 222, the #HeatPumpAccessAct, just passed two Assembly committees with bipartisan support 🎉 This bill will make #heatpump installations faster, easier, and more affordable for CA homeowners and contractors. Thank you @scottwiener.bsky.social for your leadership! bit.ly/4aBbrs5 #EnergySky

While wine-tasting today, I learned my wife of 32 years has never seen Star Trek Wrath of Kahn. Apparently she spent that time period at Rocky Horror Picture Show.

JUST IN: Democrat Richard Pan is now in 2nd place in #CA06 congressional race, behind incumbent Kevin Kiley but ahead of Republican Michael Stansfield. Sacramento updated its count for 1st time, & Pan nets 2800 votes over Stansfield in this large batch of ballots. He's ahead of him 23% of 21%.
