You can make a little mockup with AI or you can do it by hand and learn that the <legend> element simply refuses to be a well-behaved flex item.

One of the downsides of living in Wales is I can't get involved in this @livingstreets.bsky.social campaign to address pavement parking. But for those of you in England, perhaps take a look? act.livingstreets.org.uk/page/189938/...

Woah! Has anyone else tried this new JS function? Looks like it just launched today: document.sofa.appendChilds()

I just discovered wizardzines.com by @b0rk.jvns.ca when searching for nginx playground (nginx-playground.wizardzines.com). What a fantastic site (and playground). And incredibly it was the first result that came up in Google. It was like searching the web in 2003. Sometimes the web works very well.

The Leaf Library bet on a sunny start to spring and won!

@themountaingoats.bsky.social Hi, I love your music and am very excited to see you play Bristol. I recently found out that one of my old teachers (who sadly died) wrote a great album on local folklore that might help you get a sense of the area: bengunstone.bandcamp.com/album/talk-l.... Cheers!

@iainmacintosh.bsky.social thought you might appreciate this newcastlewonthecup.com

Hi @aleksandrhovhannisyan.com just wanted to say that your brilliant article Performant Game Loops in JavaScript (www.aleksandrhovhannisyan.com/blog/javascr...) was the foundation for my site newcastlewonthecup.com. It helped me get where I needed to go so quickly. Thank you!

Newcastle won the cup. And here they do it in the style of Championship Manager 2 newcastlewonthecup.com

The best decision I made this year was to pre-order Complete CSS by Andy Bell (piccalil.li/complete-css). The content is wide-ranging, practical, and human-centered, just like the web at its best. The presentation and pacing are spot on too.

Friday cheers from a dive bar in Zurich

Just a few months until we can watch this classic again

Early Twitter had Stephen Fry < Early BlueSky has Steve Albini.

Everyone posting “perfect” albums as if there’s ever been such a thing.

Cool to use definition lists for faqs?

Me after reading Every Layout by @andy-bell.co.uk: “Tetris is a sidebar layout and a great example of a sidebar where the sidebar in on the right. And now I’m making a stack of boxes!” Game Over 0 lines / 0 points “Ooo, is that a cover or an imposter?”

“Yep, just here in Production living my best life.” *Frantic chattering down the phone* “Yeah, but dev just wasn’t doing it for me, bye!”

Don’t sleep on Daniel Goldhaber’s ‘How To Blow Up A Pipeline’, one of the best films of 2023. Thrilling, urgent and angry, but as focused on the humans involved as the pressing issues at hand. Brilliantly structured and edited too. And a superb, insistent score by Gavin Brivik. Do see it.

show me an argument for heavy staffed-up moderation that isn’t accidentally an argument for absurd levels of vc funding
